In my experience exJWs hate dates on account of having had them up to their necks.
Really?

I know the feeling.....

The pickings would be slim for those who aren't interested in long distance relationships. My limit is a half hour drive, round trip.

It's have to be a pretty, intelligent, open minded, freethinking, frugal, vigorous, compassionate, understanding woman before I was even interested!
Non JW, Ex JW really makes no difference to me. For some I can see that they need to have soemone understand thier past but I think that it can be a curse. Sites like this help you deal with your past IMHO. If you happen to meet someone who is an Ex-JW and you get along swimingly that is awesome but if being an Ex-JW is a prerequisite I think the relationship is doomed to faliure.
I don't really agree with that, I think those who grew up in it, feel less guilty knowing that they had no choice, they didn't walk into a kingdom hall as an adult and say, please take me to paradise. But its an individual thing I guess.
Flying High Now, I am sorry If I am mistaken, but I thought you were in love and very happy, with a guy named Andy. Perhaps I am mistaken, I thought I read a thread about you and him and him having an accident a while back.

I'd have to go back and read, but I don't think I said every single person raised as a JW has the issues I mentioned, if I did, please accept my profound apoligy. On the other hand, yes, I have met exjws who have all kinds of problems with guilt and discomfort with viewing normal life issues in a skewed way because their minds were impressed so deeply, by the WTBTS, as children, teens and even as young adults. I also know exjw's who were raised in it that seem pretty healthy and balanced.

I love Andy very much and Andy loves me very much. We are not together anymore though. Andy needs to concentrate on recovery and is disabled very much by all that has happened. We basically lost almost everything as a result of his accident and breakdown. He is unable to cope with everyday things like working, bills, child rearing issues with an eleven year old who is in puberty. It's very painful for Andy to hear about anything that is a challenge or that goes wrong for Julian and for me. Because of Andy's need to be as stress free as possible, we have made the decision to be supportive friends, rather than a couple. We know we will always love each other. I have to go on with life and raise my grandson. Andy cannot help with me with this very challenging family project. He can be happy for the good things that happen and that's all.
I haven't made a big announcement here about this. But here it is. Yes, we still love each other dearly. No, we are not together as a couple anymore.
