I believe "convomition" is a deliberate mashup of "convention" and "vomit".
Which is the proper term Convomition or ASSembly?
I went to Dodger stadium as well. The worst day was when we had to lower the umbrellas so we can see the dorks in their costumes while we burned up in the sun. Sitting in chairs that weren't meant to sit in for more than a few hours in comfortable clothing, sweating like horses was too much for me after a while. I vowed never to go back and that very year they announced a new location.
I was assigned to Norco but I never went. The fact that I now had to drive 75 miles each way or spend money to stay overnight was enough for me to blow it off. Woodland hills was tolerable because it was indoors and within a reasonable distance. For anyone familiar with the Woodland Hills assembly hall, it's now completley torn down and halled away. It's a vacant lot now
Atlanta, GA, Fulton County Stadium (outdoor), 1969 (I think). That assembly (5 days) is legendary in the southeast US. Heat, intense afternoon thunderstorms (think monsoon), people passing out left and right, tossing their cookies in the bathrooms. Sisters were wearing flip flops becuase there legs and feet were so swollen they couldn't put their shoes on. The speakers podium was on the pitchers mound and I remember one particular bolt of lightning struck so close that everybody ran for cover, except the speaker, he didn't miss a beat.
Outdoor assemblies in the southeast, what were they thinking......
And to think, Evidently, most witnesses that were at that "legendary" assembly remember it with pride.
London Fairgrounds (London Ontario). If you couldn't get a seat in the stands, you had to sit in a lawn chair (bring those too, just in case) in the full sun (bring your umbrella) or the pouring rain (bring a rain coat or a garbage bag). UGH!
The Aud, Kitchener, Ontario. Back before they got AC, you'd have thousands of people sitting in an enclosed Aud! It was nasty!! Usually the Assembly days were for the hottest and smoggiest days of the year. There were always warnings for air quality on those days outside, I'd hate to think of what it was inside! No wonder I always got sick after the assembly! Thank the universe I don't go anymore!

Dodger is the place I guess would be most hated. The smell of those stairwells...((shiver)). I think it was worse before you could bring your own food. I too said it was my last one the year they announced it was the last assembly before moving to Long Beach. Woodland Hills was pretty cool in the round...you could check everybody out!

Of course he wouldn't miss a beat. Pshaw .... that lightning bolt was a sign of Jah's implicit approval!
