Very good point, dt. Since their message is now different, they are starting over, from scratch. They should firstly let everyone in the world know that they have dropped the 'generation of 1914' doctrine, that their god has adopted a new time frame in which to kill every nonjw, a reprive of sorts.

The JW's never really start over. They just re-phrase things.
They've always said "the end is near". For a few decades in the 20th century, they used the 1914 / generation thing mainly to add urgency to that same theme.
Since 1995 when they dropped the idea that the generation was a length of time, they've just re-emphasized that the reason for the "urgency" is that the signs of the times "prove" God's Kingdom is near. Not all the JW's are buying into it, but it's about the only idea they've got going for them.
