Dear Friends, Now that an article has appeared in our local newspaper, we are now able to confirm what some of you have heard rumors about. Yes, Watchtower Farms is once again expanding! This will even be a larger project than the recent printery project that doubled the size of our current printery which made it possible to accommodate the Shipping Department to move up from Brooklyn. What will this new project entail? What was asked for a 300 room new residence building, a 400 space parking garage, additions to the laundry and dry cleaning, dining room expansion and perhaps other projects not listed. It is currently felt this will be a five to seven-year project. (Here is the chance for all of you to apply as temporary workers!) The paper made it clear that no new properties will be taken off the tax roles and quoted the Assessor as saying about us “You can’t get better neighbors.” Watchtower has helped the town build a park and rail trail as well as going into action when winds downed so many trees in the area. What is the news in Brooklyn? The Standish Hotel, one of the residence buildings has now been sold, and we will see what the future holds for other buildings. What a saving this will be for the Society. Not only is property expensive in the city, but the maintenance is extensive. The Bethel family has been shrinking as a whole as most of you know. To be able to do more work with less people has certainly been the goal, enabling more to concentrate on the preaching work. With the new Public and Study editions, the ability to download the magazines from the WT web site, the work is definitely speeding up. There is no start date as yet for the project, but we do want to keep everyone updated. We think of all of you each time we see those congregation boxes full of literature go speeding by! Corporations down size to do one thing: to reduce costs of production. Don't tell me they're making all these enormous, multi-million dollar expansions just so they can put a few hundred people back into the preaching work.

  There was a letter read to all congregations in the US recently.

  The audio versions of the magazines will be available for download as MP3 files from www.jw.org beginning in January. At first they will be available in English & Spanish only.

  The J-dub 1984ish ability to hold two contradictory thoughts as both true at the same time is amazing. If the big "A" is coming soon how can you have seven year construction timetables?

  We were always taught that the Society's holdings would be confiscated when the "Beast" turned on religion so using the excuse that these facilities would be useful in the "New System" doesn't hold water. Wouldn't they be subject to destruction since they would be held by the Devil's governments at the time of the big "A"?

  Complete nonsense. The Watch Tower leadership obviously doesn't believe that the "End" is coming any time soon.

  Of course any expansion at any of the HQ facilities is spun.
  Look at the track record.

  Worldwide growth means Jehovah's blessings.
  Worldwide lack of growth is proof that Satan is persecuting witnesses and
  deceiving the masses.

  Changing doctrine is proof that WTS has God's people, willing to adjust
  as the light gets brighter. Admitting they were wrong in the past shows
  humility, and they are no longer wrong.
  Changing doctrine in Christianity (though it is rare now after close to
  2000 years of change) is proof that they don't know what they are talking
  about- they are from their father the Devil.

  The blunders made in handling pedophile cases are proof that God uses
  "foolish" men to run his organization to prove that He is wiser than all
  the scholars- and that Satan is persecuting JW's.
  Correcting procedure on handling pedophiles is proof that God cares about
  individuals and wants to help them. Heck, giving out settlements is proof
  that God's organization has sympathy for these victims of individual acts of
  pedophilia, and it's proof that those who were "spiritually weak" would go
  after the pocketbook of God's organization.

  Laying off Bethelites is proof that the end is imminent and more workers
  are needed "out there" where the real work is getting done (at coffee shops
  and laundromats). It is proof that WTS is thrifty, wanting to use every last
  dollar to proclaim the kingdom, not wasting it on actually taking care of
  Bethel "family" members who gave up social security and pensions and
  family and career.

  Appointing elders or pioneers is proof of God's spirit-direction.
  Removing elders or pioneers is proof of God's cleaning up his organization.

  Getting a new release at the Convention is proof that God gives us just what
  we need, just like new articles in the WT and Awake. They are always arriving
  to cover exactly what we needed to hear.
  Studying that old release for the fourth time proves that Jehovah is patient
  with us, and wants us to "get it." It has nothing to do with the stack of overruns
  piling up in NY.

  Exactly! This organization, from the top all the way to the bottom, is simply incapable of speaking the truth. Sure is good to be rid of that.

  Hmmm...ok...so...the newspaper articles about the pedophile settlements are the work of lying apostates and you can't trust anything put out by the media, but THIS article in the same media is trustworthy....hmmm....say it with me, people...Cognitive dissonance.
