If he's not one of the ones we knew from American baseball (Chet Lemon, Lou Whitaker), then there should be no harm done. Seeing the guy is only 26, all he'd have to do is say "no that's not me" -- no harm, no foul.

Thats true. I think he was run off by the rude comments more than anything else.......what a shame.......lately I've been noticing alot of newbies getting run off before they even get a foot in the door.

BL, you better get off this thread before I tear you a new one!

Actually a lot of newbies have been welcomed here warmly. Example: a liberal, articulate JW named "Yourmomma" who was very well-received here in the last day or two.

If someone comes on and makes certain claims to fame, it will naturally arouse our curiosity. Hopefully if they are real they'll have a thick enough skin to understand a certain amount of skepticism, taking note of our background as people who were taken for a ride by the WTS.

Yelling "Troll!" at newbies is so tacky and classless.

And trying to guess his identity? Do we not have the right to anonymity? Even a little? Ok, he may have gave that up when he told his story, but why pull at that thread? Why?

Welcome USON, good for you for pursueing school and athletics and choosing the less JW path. JWs can be so negative and yet feel entitled.

IF this is a prank, so what. I'm not so emotionally invested that I can't walk away.

Our poster is not Lou Whittaker and I think that should be the extent of our guesses. I've traded a few private messages with him and I know where he grew up and was born (no, I'm not telling), and it doesn't match up Whitaker's story.

I went back and read his other posts, after he left. I wish he would come back, I feel that we have alot to offer, and he to us. He deserves an apology for being treated badly here. I would hate to have posted just a few times, and have finally felt like I could type more that a couple of sentences, and somebody cry foul.

United States, please come back, this is an open forum, and is a support board. New people are the life blood of anything. Be it a town, city, corporation, a forum on the internet. For us to have been rude, or inhospitable, is just wrong.

We have had this problem, more so in the past couple of months, with scams, and some that are hateful and post porn. Which, is no excuse for our behavior. I have looked around the internet, and there are other ex-JW forums. We by far, are the classiest place. They just can't compare. You can go into those websites, for 5 minutes or less, and feel the animosity, and read the backbiting and crude words, and you are ready to leave. We are supposed to be a class act. The Ivy League.

I am sorry, you knocked on our door, and caught us with our pants down, and the house was a mess, and were treated badly. Please come back, and you will find us to be gracious of your presence.

Who would ever admit to playing for the Tigers? Ha! Sounds like you made the right choice, but it's always tough.

,font color=black>i can attest to what Gopher has said. I have had an enjoyable time here so far and have had only 1 run in with a person i felt was not "fighting fair".

I have seen some newbies run off, however, and of course i havent read everyone, but the ones that I have read, I will say much of the time the newbie that gets run off, does what alot of witnesses do and that is act like they have the right way and either disrespect others or act somewhat haughty because of what they believe. (Is that not the greatest run on sentence you have ever read? Ship the run on sentence championship to me!)

Now, this guy in this thread im not sure what happened. I think there were some posts that could penetrate thin skin, but i didnt see anything to bad. Maybe he left for another reason, perhaps he told a friend about this place and then gave him an apostate rant.

I thought that I would be run off, but I havent, and I think its because once a person acts like their beliefs are superior its turns people off. And frankly, witnesses are the last people that should act superior, and I think that it pisses people off because 1. they have been hurt by the witnesses, and 2. they know things and can see the severe problems.

anyway, im not saying i wont get run off ever, but so far so good.

i have no problem with a person if they disagree with me, it doesnt make me look at them differently, sadly, not alot of people can do that especially witnesses.

In that thread I believe Russel was 26 when you first started the business. Was not in any way stating that I was 26 years old. Those days have long since passed. Please no more guessing on who I am, I really wanted to start new on this forum.

    Thanks

Well....Welcome back...I am glad you are here!

I have a question regarding what it is like to grow up as a "famous" witness. It seems like the famous people we know of (that claim to be a JW, but are living a life in the spot light and doing things good JW's wouldn't do) get away with lots of things without being DF'd. (Like Prince and the Williams sisters)

Did you find that the congregation gave you le-way because of your fame...and possibly power to discredit the JW's if they did mistreat you?
