Yes, there has been a lot of buzz and speculation from posters about the increase of JWs in various countries, as well as salivating over the zero and negative growth rates in other countries. But still no one's produced the official figures for the 2007 year (which runs from September 2006 - August 2007).

So, until we're able to see a scanned copy of the 2007 Service Year Report of Jehovah's Witnesses Worldwide, spare us the frustration of the pointless speculation!

There is a figure quoted in the Feb 15, 2008 Watchtower Kool-Aid edition, which can be accessed on the Feb 15, 2008 Watchtower Scan thread under Bible Study Articles subheading. If you read that, the fourth study article (which will be studied in the middle of April) has the total of 6,957,852 peak publishers worldwide. Bear in mind that this number is only a total, not including averages or the country by country breakdown. The same article also mentions in excess of 6.5 million Bible Watchtower studies being conducted. These are the only two numbers I have seen from the official sources. No numbers from individual countries are available from that publication.

I have been out for a very long time. Do they still omit the people that have left and only report the new ones comming in?

The wts has always made a BIG DEAL out of NUMBERS! let's remember something here my friends, these are THEIR numbers. And who are they? The gb. As everyone knows, when you are running a large CASH corporation there ALWAYS 2 sets of books. I am not speaking of $ money books, I am speaking about the ACTUAL number of anything that they print in the annual report. Baptisms, bible studies, r/v, avg this and actual that. THEY KEEP THE BOOKS!!!! Are these the real figures??

As of the 2006 report, yes they still only report those coming in and leave it for the apostates to calculate the numbers leaving. That is fairly simple: The difference between the new ones coming in and the change from the previous year equals the total number that died or left.

For the 2007 report, I would presume that they will continue doing so. However, there is no way of knowing with absolute certainty until someone posts a scan of the actual chart from the Kingdumb Misery or yearbook, where it will be found.
