This is a talk I did in 2000, I was going through some old papers and came across this........Laugh at me, lol, I don't mind. I was a good sister!!!!!

What I think is important about this is, I gave the talk in 2000, I was on this board in 2005, and last month I was a small voice on the phone to a radio station speaking against the WT about the disfellowshipping and shunning policies when a member gets a blood transfusion.

There is hope for those that seem hardcore in.

Yes, Leslie- I am happy that you learned the real truth, and are here now.
I am happy that your granddaughter will not have to grow up in that religion.

Even if I accept the account about Saul and Samuel, that would mean that
we have to follow the commandments of the prophet of God.

The WTS used to say that they were a prophet of God, but now they say they
are not prophets. So where is the commandment to abstain from donating blood,
or even to get a transfusion?

It's just a shame that this is a subject that JW's just assume there's no way they
    are wrong on.

Yeah, there's hope for those who are hard core. Thanks for posting this. I'd forgotten about the school and how the sisters couldn't actually give a talk but instead had to have a conversation with another sister.

Isn't it GREAT to be free from that crap?

i am betting there was a practice session in the bathroom marked "sisters" 10 minutes before the meeting started

what a flashback.... not only did i do my "talks" but had to work on the talks for 4 kids too!

my poor sons..... i made them use a counter/bar stool like a podium so they could get their gestures down!!!! they were so little

i SO do not miss that waste of time!!!

    Ahh the memories..

I see you were a fan of the "convert them by the end of the 5 minutes" method of talk writing. LOL. At the end, before I quit the school I started to make them argue a lot more just so it would be more realistic. I acutally got commended for that. Still, overall, it was effective and logical use of illustrations. I give you a G. You may move on to the next point, sister Purps!

it made mea little bit too when I first read it.......Then It was hilarious. I don't know who that person was anymore that was a witness, did those talks, converted someone in 5 mins woohoo!!!! I had no real arguement against blood transfuisions other than being obediant and the occasional problems from aids and hepetitis. In 2000 the stuff about blood fractions being acceptable had not even come out yet.

I do remember my householder, a young girl in the hall, who eventually moved in with me when I moved to San Antonio .....so she could be closer to the college she was going to. Everyone thought I was so bad for doing that, I remember that now.

    oh well,

    purps

    oompa, you bad bad boy!!!!!
