I have seen local documentaries of various Canadians that have made the journey to this event.

I'd LOVE to go there. A real great 'coming-together' of artists and creative types.

Fascinating. Real cool stuff. The site that Avi submitted here, also is very deep and discusses things like how they set-up and how they try to leave the place, the way they found it. Like no one was ever there.

    Amazing!

I'd LOVE to go. Seriously, it'd be an unforgettable trip/event/memory.

Thanks for the post, great to be reminded. I'd love to go, at least once.

    Howdy Avi-

Yes, I plan to go this year. Been wanting to go for years, this is the year.

I've been reading the FAQ at the Burning Man website.

So, is it basically an extended camping trip in the middle of the desert with no food, water, shelter or facilities available?

Can people come and go? Can I get a hotel room outside the event and enter during the day?

Ooopsie, I had said I had room, but that's for the one here, assuming this is for THE festival at Black Rock...I'm still in.

Elsewhere, for that, Motor homes are great. They're (relatively) quiet, You have A/C. etc.

It's cheaper to go to an auction and buy an older one.

I've done both, I generally do fine w/ a solar shower, tent, etc.

No one out there really notices nudity, as there is alot of it, so I don't have a problem kinda showering in the open, though lot's of camps have shower enclosures they'll let you use.

Ok, we've got both of those. A solar shower is what we use at our camp up north (no hydro or running water there either).

I've been wanting to go to Burning Man for many many years, but, am a little intimidated by the fact that it is in the desert and HOTTER than HELL........I don't handle heat well.......you have to keep on top of hydrating yourself, otherwise you literally stroke out.........and, you have to pack everything in, and pack everything out, right, Avi? Part of the concept is to keep the environment pristine.......

Yeah, that's true, but it's not as hard as it seems...

There's a company out there that'll pump your motor home sewage, and you CAN buy ice and good coffee..
