if you are honest with one elder, but wont talk about any of your questions with a second elder, you'll be fine. if you are honest to two or more of them, your ass is toast. which might be fine too.

Yes, you can. If that bothers you, best not to take a chance on the elders; if they ask you anything, be prepared with an answer that won't get you into trouble.
You're better off not being in a situation where they are able to ask you anything at all. They won't make contact with you unless prompted (by you or somebody else) so if you're worried about it, don't give them or anybody a reason. Stay off their radar.
