I just can't get into it.......... I've been out going on 10 years now and for me personally I just don't enjoy the season. I've tried.
I guess the JW indoctrination since birth took a very stong hold in me. You can't miss what you never had right?

Whatever the JWs said is such a load of hog wash. I buy pressies for my whole family and a few friends - nothing too extravigent (except for my brother) but something I know will put a smile on their faces.
I love putting up my tree and putting the pressies under it. Each year (since I've been out) I throw an annual christmas party and invite family and friends over for merry making. On christmas day the whole family (bar for those in the faith) get together for a lovely lunch, where we've all made something delish and celebrate.

Christmas is what we make it! It is a time, I have noticed, when people are friendlier and kinder. It is a time for families and friends to get together and talk about old times and expectations of new ones. It is a time for children to beam in expectation of what is inside the wrapping paper. And there's the Christmas tree, decorations and good food. I won't let anyone spoil that!

the good thing about Christmas now is that I get to watch my daughter open presents on Christmas and see her be happy.
