Actually there was a study done ( I can't find it at this moment ) that showed men are more prone to join and be controlled by groups in general religious in nature, or not. It stems from a pack mentality and hierarchy men have, which is why they make great soldiers. Women tend to be at home taking care of children and are attracted to religion more than men, hence why they end up in cults more often than men.
