    Hello all,
Last night's meeting at our congregation was exactly 2 weeks since our Public Reproof.
My wife was in attendance. The Local Needs talk was about...APOSTASY!
This of course lets the congregation know exactly what our reproof was for. If people only knew that we were simply asking questions.
We have not started our own break-away church, and we are not worshipping Satan! Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that the saga continues..thanks for all the support.

Oh yes, I too was the subject of a public needs talk - a bit of damage limitation after I had sent copies of my da letter to some members of the congregation. Wish I had been there, would have been interesting... but then again, maybe not. Nothing like getting a bit of notoriety....

Actually, it's better that the cong. knows it's "apostasy" because it will bring some doubters out of the woodwork in time. You will have some asking questions sooner or later, though some may be planted to do just that.
    Hang in there!

unbelievable BadWillie. so the elders ask you to keep quiet, while they in turn let the congregation know what your supposed crime was. how can that be just and fair? what a joke. let them think what they want - we know the real deal. badwillie got a raw deal.

The over-reaction can be counter productive. How many had the same thoughts etc. as you but did not get sanctioned for it? I still don't know why they reproved you? Only in America..............lol!

so how is your wife taking things anyway? it is getting any easier for ya'll? must be tough not discussing this matter after that talk, huh? wouldn't be suprised if you have some brothers or sisters trying to get more info out of you about why exactly ya'll were reproved, JW have got to be the noisest people in the world! Next to me anyway lol.

A couple of months after I quit going to meetings, an elder told me that there was a local needs talk given about me.

But get this. I told my wife that I couldn't keep conscientiously going to meetings. She told the whole congregation what I said. So apparently some Witnesses were bad-mouthing me. The elder told me that the local needs part was given to stop the congregation from gossiping about me! Yeah, right...

Sorry you are being put through this. How is your wife handling it? How was she treated after the talk?

Just so sorry for all this bullshit,

    Xena & Closer,
My wife has her eyes wide open now, so I don't worry about our future anymore. In the beginning, when I was still discovering all this stuff she was very resistant to anything I showed her, I wondered for a while if we would be a divided household. But the way the elders dealt with her really did it for her - it's like a light went off in her head and then she wanted to know everything I know. My friends are definitely NOT the same towards me. My social life is pretty much gone now. Nobody calls, nobody invites me over to watch games or any of the usual stuff. This is probably because I stopped attending the meetings. My "friendships" were completetly conditional on me accepting everything the Org says/does.

Sounds like you have had a very similar experience to us badwillie, even down to the elders making up your wifes mind !

Trust me, it gets easier from here on and life get's better. We're happier now & close than we've ever been.
