To tell the truth,i can believe it..it reminds me of the time a "sister" reported to the elders, that my family was,i guess, secretly partaking in Christmas celebrations because when she came over to study with my sister, she saw a bag of Christmas sugar cookies somewhere..They even had the audacity to question my mom about it later,at which point she explained to them that she bought them, because it was AFTER Christmas, and they were heavily discounted.

I once wore a jacket that had an eagle stamped on the buttons. A Miss Goody Two Shoes pioneer took me to task about said buttons. I was a "stumbling block". jw's get twisted over the most inane and stupid things. Sad thing to be so small minded.

When my mother died shortly before Christmas (five years ago), one of my colleagues sent a poinsetta directly to the KH where the services were to be held. About 30 minutes before the service was to begin, I found the plant, unwrapped and attempted to set it on a mantle which was in the vestibule. One of the "sisters" became unglued and ordered that I set it on the floor. I looked at her and said, "JEHOVAH made that poinsetta." I think I capitulated and set it on the floor--I wasn't in a frame of mind to argue at that point.

The fact that you had to say that...!

That person who "counseled" you has just as much pagan things going on in their own life, directly or indirectly.

Shouldn't they be screeching at 160 MPH looking for more lives to "save" instead of checking those MySpace profiles? Perhaps they have all that time to pry into people's lives, even if it means checking on those many forums and blog spaces to see if the witlesses are there. A tiny flag? I hope they land on my MySpace blog page, since there is nothing there but apostate blogs and references to other apostate web sites to back them all up.
A tiny flag on MySpace in the profile page a stumbling block? And I suppose having that big embarrassment last month about the pedophile issue isn't? They make a big stink about people wearing inconspicuous and obscure pagan symbols, buying Christmas cookies on sale, and playing rap music in the privacy of one's home or on a personal stereo (with the volume low enough so others would not be able to hear). (I just challenge them to find out what's on my mini discs. All there is on those discs for clues is meaningless code numbers that I know what they mean, but they don't. They can't even play the damn things without special equipment. So how the fxxx is that going to stumble anyone?
Then, they go around, use their authority to molest children, and then silence them. I would say that they are in a pretty crappy position to counsel me about the apostate blogs, apostate web sites bookmarked on my computer, rap music on discs that they couldn't play without investing in special equipment (one of the reasons I made that investment: While tape and regular CD is prone to hounders listening, mini disc is not popular enough for hounders to be likely to have the equipment.), or even playing with a Ouija board. All those non-offenses pale in comparison to hiding pedophiles in the organization.

I was once counseled about my necktie with a pattern of tiny fleur de lis all over it. Apparently the symbol has some religous origin.

I was shopping with my little sister (we were both JWs then) and she was admiring a hair clasp that had the peace symbol on it. I said, "Becky! That's a peace symbol! You don't believe in peace, do you?" She dropped it like a hot rock. "No......" Then the light bulb went on, "Yes I do!"
She believed in peace but couldn't be caught wearing a peace symbol.
