Hi Jake. I'm sorry you were abused so. *huggles*

    Should it be recorded?

You are not allowed to record a jc meeting. In order to protect yourself, you must record the meetings by stealth. And that will only serve to provide you with irrefutable evidence of judicial misconduct for yourself or any of the other brothers or sisters that may care to hear. If the jc finds out, you will be charged with breaking yet another rule. Damned if you do, and double-damned if you don't.

    Hi Jake,

I just read your other posts to get caught up on your situation. If you want to return, it might be better to attend a different congregation if that's possible. I know a number of folks that were counseled for uncleanness and loose conduct but never DF'd. I didn't think it was DF'ing matter. Sorry you had to experience this.

I told those brothers yesterday when I was leaving that I hope Jehovah's more forgiving then they are. The Isrealites were jehovah's people for a time then they lost his favor. Is it possible that the organization could become so corupt that they would lose his favor also? Or does he need them no matter what to fulfill prophecy about the good news being preached over the whole inhabited earth? I was told by a ex-missionary that there's been at least congregation's where the spirit was no longer present and the elders all had to be deleted and the publishers were sent to different congregations. Is this possible on a larger scale?

When someone appeals a JC decision they may still believe that a loving, compassionate Jehovah oversees the whole process, will read their hearts and make matters right. The reality is that the whole judicial process is an implementation of man-made rules by company men.

These men have egos. An appeal is an affront to their authority and skill level. An overturned judicial decision is an embarrassment not quickly lived down. Even if an appeal committee sympathizes with the accused, the reality of having to work with their cronies on a variety of levels will far outweigh their collective consciences.

The original committee frequently drags their feet considering reinstatement of someone who has dared to appeal(question) their judgement. Some are even arrogant enough to use the threat of a longer disfellowshipment to dissuade someone from appealing.

As much as it hurts initially to be disfellowshipped, when someone realizes that this is simply the hierarchy of a man-made cult passing judgement, the freedom and healing begins.

    jake,

I am sorry that they acted the way they did. The appeal process makes no sense the way they do it.

A little known fact is that you CAN appeal the appeal committee. In the "Pay Attention" book, all it says about it is that if someone does, to call Brooklyn for instructions. It depends how long you want to beat your head against the wall.

Good luck, and stick around here.

Welcome. I don't intend to be crass or seem uncaring here. But honestly, you have no family in, no consequences will be befall your employment, and I assume since you are here that you no longer believe it to be the 'truth'? You are 25, now free and unburdened by a destructive cult. You might not even lose your friends.

Unless I misunderstand something here, your best course of action is to get down on your knees and thank God you got free at 25.

As I said - no insult intended. Count your blessing and move on. When I got out I was 48, and I lost my whole world. Your deal is about the least painful I can imagine.

    my 2 cents

At least it is over and you can move on with your life.

With my appeal committee they had judged me guilty before I even went. At the end of a half hour chat with me the "head" of the committee told me they were upholding the decision to d/f. He didn't even bother to ask the other elders what they thought, or pray for spirit guidance, just made the decision on the fly.

In reading your last post again I see that you actually do believe the organization is God's people yet. Sorry for the comments above in that case. The best advise is to stick around here and find out the 'truth about the truth'. Welcome again.

Jake, You asked: Is it possible that the organization could become so corupt that they would lose his favor also? This may be hard for you to believe now. But the organization never had God's favor. You asked: Or does he need them no matter what to fulfill prophecy about the good news being preached over the whole inhabited earth? Jehovah's Witnesses have never preached the Bible's good news. That good news, as preached by the apostles, was all about Jesus Christ. Read the book of Acts, and the rest of the New Testament. What was the good news that the apostles preached? Jesus died for us to buy all who put their faith in him God's forgiveness of all of our sins and eternal life. The apostles taught that for Christians there is only "one faith, one hope, and one baptism." (Eph. 4:4-6)Is this the good news preached by Jehovah's Witnesses? Do they preach a good news which is all about Jesus Christ? No, they do not. They preach a good news that is all about the Watchtower Society, presumptuously claiming to have been appointed by Christ over all his belongings shortly after he supposedly invisibly returned in 1914. Then creating, contrary to the teachings of the apostles, two hopes for Christians, one heavenly and one earthly, and two kinds of baptisms Christians, one which they say only a very few can receive, a baptism by the Holy Spirit, and one "in association with God's spirit-directed organization." Jehovah's Witnesses preach a "different good news" than the apostles preached. Because they do they cannot possibly be "fulfilling that prophecy" or any prophecy other than those where the Bible warned that false prophets and false teachers would arise mislead many. In Gal. 1:8,9 Paul said, "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a 'Good News' different than what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a 'Good News' different than what you received from us, he is to be accursed!"
