Not to change the subject but, why was everyone 5 when their parents became JW's?
Your favorite Christmas memory ?...albeit we didn't get to celebrate!

Going to my father's parents' house during the holidays before both of my grandparents got baptised as jws. I could pretend that I wasn't a jw for a short while.

Yes, so strange that so many people had parents that converted when they were 5 yrs old!
I was a born in kid so didn't celebrate until the past few years. But my parents did try to make that time of year special. Their anniversary was in November so we usually had a little party and presents. Over the years we moved on to having the JW sanctioned "family day" once a year and would have a big party along with presents for all.
Christmas was almost always fun because we went skiing on that day with tons of people that we knew. We had a lot of fun ski trips as we are close to several several ski resorts. The big excitement was always which one we were going to pick and who would be there. I was in the midst of my teenage years and spent many a day on the slopes trying to accidentally meet up with my current crush

I particularly remember Christmas 1973. There was something about the music on the radio (and not just the Christmas carols) around that time that was unbeaten, and the Christmas carols added to it. Plus, that year seemed to have everything that could be bigger than normal, actually happening that way. Christmas was no exception, as I got a transistor radio for Christmas among numerous other gifts. And there was a messup at my normal babysitters, so we had to spend 3 days at my grandparents. That meant being able to go outside and slide down the hill into the raspberry patch (it was difficult to reach the raspberry patch, but I managed a few times).
Nothing like those Christmases from the late 1980s through about 2006, where all I was able to do was a "Bah! Humbug!" because of the Watchtower. And twice, I had to waste the whole day with the family that I studied with or their relatives.
