    Never did.

I avoided service on all holidays.

    I thought it was rude.

Weird, I usually got a case of the flu the night before.

I was always uncomfortable about interrupting people like that to preach some boring sermon at them. But, we got dragged out in service nonetheless.

i used to roll my eyes when the story about angelic direction leading dubs to the doors of the estranged and disengaged in the throes of lonliness on xmas day was dredged up and spewed forth.... give me a break!!

i NEVER went on the holidays that people used to gather family close to hearth and heart..... so pompously intrusive

I went out in field circus the first Thanksgiving. True, there were a lot of people at home. They were all cooking turkeys, and I don't think I placed much more litter-ature than I would have on a regular day. That was when I was off that night, and they knew it (and hence expected me out there).

What happened that day is that everyone got a craving for turkey. When they went to find a place that served turkey, they could not find any. Most were closed. We did find a place that had hamburgers, but no turkey.

No, I never did go out in field circus on Christmas or New Years. They did, however, hype up going out those days. The only concession to the holidays is that they would start at 9:30 instead of 9. Big deal. These days, they would have us get out in street work at 5:30 in the morning (I doubt anyone is going to be out on the streets at that time in the morning on a holiday, especially if it's freezing rain out or it is bittler cold).

oh my gosh ..... i do remember the days (the 25th) all of them till i was 15........ how out of touch we all were (how insulting to those we spoke to at the door.....JW timing....such love x o x) for us children........ i used to try and see as much of the inside of the door as i could in hope of seeing what magical and wonderful gifts the children were recieving, i knew they were all going to die at armagedon but at the time almost seemed worth it..........such a sad period for us kids.......

Never. The whole idea is brutal. Taking kids round folks doors on xmas is just insane.

    Never.

We would always avoid the Christmas days. And also other times that would be regarded as really disrespectful to knock on doors, such as during the evening news (when I was a child we only had one TV channel), and during the biggest sports events.

I was knocking on doors during the football cup final (soccer) one year. And we only met people who were really grumpy because we disturbed them during the final.
So we never did that again.

I went out plenty of times, even on New Years day. One time I was even in, they were still partying from the night before!
