From Wikipedia:
Unlike William A. Dembski [18] and others in the intelligent design movement, Behe accepts the common descent of species, [19] including that humans descended from other primates, although he states that common descent does not by itself explain the differences between species. He also accepts the scientific consensus on the age of the Earth and the age of the Universe.

And thanks for that link to the NOVA report, Mavie.
Yeah after watching that I now have no respect for ID or anyone pushing it.

Another case of bogus logic. Evolution cannot be possible because it will negate Watchtower doctrine. That, to me, is a sad excuse for backing up the doctrine or the theory. This in the public edition at that! I hope people see it and realize that the Watchtower Society is nothing more than a self serving organization that tries to alter reality to fit its own doctrines.

I just watched the ID video. It blows my mind that a bunch of ignorant non-scientists think they know more about evolution than people who have studied it for a lifetime. It reminds me of how the janitors and window washers of the JWs think they can handle child molestation cases.

Excellent point!

I've mentioned this before in an earlier thread on a similar topic, but Charles Russell in his book "New Creation" acceded to the possibility of theistic evolution, at least for the lower animals.

Behe has been shredded so spectacularly and so often by the scientific community that I have noticed that even his drooling disciples on this Board rarely try to use his arguments in any credible manner.
If you would like to read more about Behe, his views and its opponents, this link is an excellent resource:

Any "lurking" JW out there who believes the WTS to be the pinnacle of information on the subject needs to read and learn. Do not let these people dupe you with psuedo-science. Do the hard work necessary to take hold of your own mind and make your own decisions on the matter.

I just found it amazing despite the evolution stance most of the scientist went to church. They pretty much feel like I do that if there is a god he used evolution to get things done. Though I can't understand why the scientist don't know why IDers try to do what they do.
IDers know that if there is no Adam to sin, there is no Jesus to redeem that sin. The entirety of Christian Theology falls apart without creationism and the genesis account to hold it up. Islam, and Judaism don't need a Christ at all so they benefit from evolution. They can live with evolution better than Christianity can. Which is why I hold the opinion Christianity is on the decline. Which is happening in developed western cultures.

Thank you for the Behe link at TallkOrigins Hillary. The information will be useful.
