• Why is my wife starting a job at Citibank feb 5th making less than I started at when I worked at Citibank in 1998?

Corporations are sneaking in budget cuts due to a weakening economy, more competition and less profit potential. Just be happy, they did not send her job to India.

Because if wages went up that much, everything else would go up 600%

• Why does the school board cry about having no money while the local superintendent of schools makes 3 times the salary of the president of the united states?

Not in my town, damn that is just crazy.

• Why does a supreme court judge make 200k while judge judy makes 5 million?

Yes, but a Supreme Court position is not about money, it is about power and any government job is a joke with money. Yet the retirement benefits are nice. Plus, we are a media society and please do not give any government position the thought of needing they need a pay raise for how little they accomplish.

• Why does a football player make millions while a cop starts at 23k?

Greedy corporations, they are a business and not a sport. Something fans forget some times.

Because the economy sucks right now and people have to survive as a business first. It is there business after all and look out for stock holders if public, or face losing their own job.

Because no one wants it on their land.

Because if you did not, you would be labeled a racist. Plus, it makes for a political picture perfect environment in an election year.

I would say it is because they have nothing else and afraid to look, so better to accept then feel lost.
