I understand your comment, Gary, but I am refering to the "kool-aid" scenario when a genuine sacrifice is required of a JW, whether it is blood, military service vs prison or weathering another WTS flip flop and the resulting loss of credibility. In other words, when the heats on.
Opinion - What % of JWs are hardcore Kool Aid partakers?

My dad (elder) falls into the Kool-Aid category. I once was trying to talk to him about a teaching that I didn't agree with. He told me to just go along with whatever I was told, don't try to think for myself. I asked him "If the CO told all of the elders that they had to wear pink tutus to the meetings and in service, even though he knows this would be wrong biblicly, would he go along with what he was told." He said he would! I was just speechless.

I feel the number would be at least 80%. Though they may not be diehard, Bethel zombies, the situation of urgency, THE END, time running out, Jehovah says act now, will move many.
This will spur many into action who may seem, today, as on the fringe.

Belief doesn't hurt them or us. Compliance and support does. I see support and compliance without belief and support and compliance with belief all accomplishing the exact same thing.
I agree with GB. I don't think that more than 30% really are true dyed in the wool believers, but I think there is a huge number who do not believe and yet comply, because they either lack the strength of character to admit they have been fooled, or because they realize they have fallen for a line and don't want to deal with losing their family and friends.Brant

I understand. But what happens these unbelieving compliers are faced with a sacrifice that tips the scales that are weighted with peer pressure etc. If they don't believe and are told they must accept a blood transfusion for themslves or a loved one or they will die it is all getting very real. Would you rather be dead or have Aunt Martha never speak to you again?

horrible life
Just thinking about my parents, it is 50%. My mom would gulp it down. For some reason, I would think my father, being a very intelligent man, that my mother leads around by a nose ring, would say no. I have no basis for saying or thinking this, except, that he is a very smart man.
I have often dreamed, since I have discovered JWD, of whispering to him, and asking him, do you really believe that crap? or are you just doing it because of mom.
BUT... Outlaw seemed to ruin that thought, bringing up the blood issue. Yes, my father would turn down blood. Thanks OUTLAW, for ruining a dream of mine.

journey-on
It depends on how the Kool Aid is presented, IMO.
Scenario:
It’s May 2008. The "members only" version of the WT has been out five months now. The information being dispersed is strange and different from the usual "spiritual food" dispensed by the Faithful and Discreet Slave. There have been changes and "new light" in every issue and extra strong encouragement to remain faithful and loyal and to trust in Jehovah and his earthly organization even when some of the information now being given out seems unusual and perhaps distasteful.
Everyone arrives for the meeting. At the exact time the meeting is to start, the PO makes an announcement from the platform:
"All present that are not baptized Jehovah’s Witnesses please rise…
children of JW parents excepted. Brothers So-and-So, please escort these people
to the door. What we are about to discuss can only be heard by our
brothers and sisters in the Truth."
A few minutes pass while the two or three unbaptized adults are escorted out. There are whispers and concerned glances among those left seated. They are somewhat anxious and excited at the same time. Some revelation must be about to be made. Perhaps the Great Tribulation is starting. They wonder breathlessly on pins and needles. When Brothers So-and-So return, the door is locked behind them and a roll call of congregation publishers is made.
After the roll is taken, Brother Bethel Biggie, takes the platform. He is visiting and has information from the Governing Body themselves. He proceeds to give one of the most moving and energizing talks the congregation has ever heard. He tells them of wonderful revelations being given to the Faithful and Discreet Slave and tells them he is here to dispense these revelations and provide the proper food at the proper time.
He has several assignments that must be carried out. They are confidential, but vital to Jehovah and his organization. The time has come. The "Ark" is in the process of being closed and locked. There are some final preparations to be made, and only the most loyal witnesses of Jehovah, are being called to make them.
As I call your name, I ask that you each pledge your loyalty and state "Agree" or "Disagree" to the request by the Governing Body to follow through with these final preparations.
I can just about guarantee 100% would DO IT……whatever IT is.

I'm sure my mom will drink the Kool-Aid and then shove it down my Dad's throat.
