Even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is be renewed from day to day. - 2 Cor. 4:16
2 Cor. 4:16 Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day.
We must remember that the Devil will take advantage of any tribulation we face in order to try to distance us from Jehovah. When did he tempt Jesus? It was when Jesus was hungry after fasting for many days. ( Luke 4:1-3) Jesus spiritual strength however, enabled him to reject the devil’s temptations firmly. How important it is to counteract any physical weakness -- perhaps caused by disease or old age -- with spiritual strength! In addition, negative emotions may cause us to overlook the principle issues and concentrate entirely on personal circumstances. For example, Job’s frustration with his three misguided companions seemed to do as much damage to him emotionally as his infirmity did physically. Having the “mental disposition” of Jesus can be a major defense against Satan’s attacks. - 1 Pet. 4:1; Job 16:20; 19:2
Sorry I am fighting a cold, so this might be a lame comment.First thing I noticed is a problem with the scripture. Only a person like me would notice it. I wouldn’t want to stumble any of you with the details. So I am just leaving it alone.
So on to the next point. The society is implying ( or is it Inferring ?) the Devil like god is every where! In fact the Devil is more powerful than god because he really does something without being petitioned to do evil. Where Jehovah must be petitioned to do good.
Next point Jesus talked to Satan. Therefore by Watch Tower policy he is to be disfellowshipped for talking to an apostate. Enough said on this point, let us move on.
This is just nuts the text says “How important it is to counteract any physical weakness -- perhaps caused by disease or old age -- with spiritual strength!” I am suffering from a cold, how is spiritual strength going to help me! I need a doctor! Which I can’t afford thanks to your higher education ban.
Final point “Having the “mental disposition” of Jesus can be a major defense”. No having the “mental disposition” of Jesus is impossible! He was the son of God, and perfect. Not like the other sons of other gods in ancient mythology who weren't. So no one can have Jesus disposition. Unless they are a god, or are a son of one.

Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one. - Ps. 11:5
Ps 11:5 Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates
.
If you have committed a serious sin, confession can help you to regain a good conscience. (1 Tim. 1:18-20) But failure to confess could result in a defiled conscience that could lead you into more sin. Remember that your sin is not just against another human or the congregation. It is against God. Jehovah will not bless anyone who hides gross sin and tries to stay clean in the congregation. (Jas. 4:6) So if you have fallen into sin and want to do what is right do not hesitate to make an honest confession. Otherwise you will a guilty conscience, especially when you read or hear counsel regarding such serious matters. What if Jehovah were to withdraw his holy spirit from you, as he did in the case of King Saul? (1 Sam.16:14) With God’s spirit removed you could fall into more serious sin.
The hypocrisy and false logic of today’s text is very evident to us here on JWD. Though let me start off by pointing out what they left out of the quoted scripture. ”And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates” I will leave to others to put up a theory of why it was left out.
Now on to the False Logic “failure to confess a sin will lead to more sin” Just because you are hiding something does not mean you will sin more. In fact many of people have hid sins their whole lives only to confess them on their deathbeds to the shock of there relatives. Who swore that the dying person was an upstanding model person their entire lives. Honestly hiding my sins lead me to be really good to make up for them too.
This leads also leads us in to the hypocritical statement in today’s text. “Jehovah will not bless anyone who hides gross sin and tries to stay clean in the congregation” Well then that explains the trouble the Watchtower is having, after hiding those pedophiles for years and the other sins they have bin hiding as well.
Today’s text in my opinion is a clear case of mind control to get dirt to use against you. This is just in case you should find the bodies the watchtower is hiding. They then have the dirt on you necessary to rebury them.

Ps 11:5 Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates .
One of my all-time favorite texts - one of the best examples of irony you'll find in the Bible.
Can't remember if it is the verse just before or just after, but virtually within the same breath of describing how much "Jehovah hates those loving violence", it describes in graphic detail just how Jehovah will beat, eviscerate, maim, and pulverize them.
For some reason, that verse never gets quoted in the WT literature!

In yet another bit of hypocrisy the watchtower provides me with away to get sir the scripture he ask for with ease.
ps11: 5 Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one,
And anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates.ps11: 6 He will rain down upon the wicked ones traps, fire and sulphur
And a scorching wind, as the portion of their cup. -

Guard your feet whenever you go to the house of the true God; and let there be a drawing near to hear. Eccl. 5:1.
Eccl. 5:1 Guard your feet whenever you go to the house of the [true] God; and let there be a drawing near to hear, rather than to give a sacrifice as the stupid ones do, for they are not aware of doing what is bad.
Christian parents should explain to their children that the Kingdom Hall and the Congregation Book Study are not places to play. They are places to worship Jehovah and study his Word. Moses taught the Israelites to assemble together adults and “little ones”. He said: Congregate the people… in order that they may listen and in order that they may learn, as they must fear Jehovah your God and take to carry out all the words of this law. And their sons who have not known should listen, and they must learn to fear Jehovah. (Deut. 31:12) Similarly today, our young ones attend meeting with their parents primarily to listen and to learn. Once they are able to follow along and to understand at least basic bible truths, children can also make a “public declaration” of their faith by commenting. - Rom. 10:10.
Notice what they left out of the quoted scripture again, they do that a lot. “rather than to give a sacrifice as the stupid ones do, for they are not aware of doing what is bad.” So fitting I will let others comment on this it worked last time.
Notice they say that Kingdom halls are places of study and worship. Funny then why do I need to study before going if I am going there to study. Also what worship there is no worship of any kind at a Kingdom Hall. There is a lecture and a sales meeting but no praying out of sync to god, there is no mass, communion, or what ever worship really is! I have never really pinned down what protestant worship is so I might be wrong.
Notice they repeated listen and learn but to learn you most ask questions. Which is not the case at a Kingdom Hall. You are the one that gets questioned not them. So really they want you just to listen and parrot, not learn.
Let us look at the last sentence for a final gleam of entertainment out of this text. “Once they are able to follow along and to understand at least basic bible truths, children can also make a “public declaration” of their faith by commenting” Most adults that don’t know basic bible truths, despite being Christian or Witnesses all their lives. Let the children become adults and find that for themselves. Also I though by the watchtower’s own words a “public declaration” of faith is baptism, not making a canned answer at a meeting.

Keep your children in line, and whip them into shape! Those little kids are future slaves (once they're baptized, they're ours ours OURS!). So get them used to submission to the organization. If your kids are relaxing a little after the meetings with their little friends, get them back in line! Make sure they behave like little adults.
And don't let them be distracted during meetings. Make sure they sit up straight and don't fidget, for the whole 90 minutes. And they'd better give some good answers or that will reflect on your poor training of them.
Snap, snap!

Who of you that wants to build a tower does not first sit down and calculate the expense? Luke 14:28
Christian couples planning a wedding want to be reasonable, and the Bible can help them. Significant as the wedding day is, they know that it is just the beginning of married life of two Christians who have everlasting life ahead of them. They are not obligated to have a large wedding feast. If they do choose to have a gathering, they will want calculate the expense of the gathering and consider its nature. The groom is primarily responsible for the wedding reception. Of course, he will lovingly consult with his wife-to-be on such matters as whom they want to or are able to invite to the wedding feast. It may not be possible or practical to invite all their friends and relatives. The couple should be able to trust that if they can not invite some fellow Christians, these will not be offended. Eccl 7:9
I am sorry do to pressing business and the fact I have a moratorium on JW weddings and funerals. I will let some one else write a comment.
I will just say I think weddings are bad ideas period JW or not. Just register the damn thing and get on with life.

I used to completely agree with this statement. A wedding to me means absolutely nothing, but to a would-be bride of mine it may mean a great deal, so then it's not such a bad idea. I still believe it's pretty stupid to spend so much on a wedding that you are still paying off the debt it incurred a year later, or worse, or making your parents pay for such an extravagent (albeit ... unnecessary in the strictest sense of the word) event.

The Bible can help in wedding planning! Really now. The Bible is a book that can stretch into any shape, then.
Don't have a large wedding reception. It's too showy and worldly, and will inhibit your ability to contribute to the worldwide pedophile-protection fund.
The groom is reponsible for the reception -- in whose world, exactly? "He will lovingly consult with his wife-to-be"?? Yeah I guess the man is the boss - even before he becomes the "husbandly owner", just remember that.
And -- if you're a friend of the couple but not invited, it's because other people (if not invited) would whine and complain so much that they'd cause commotion in the congregation. It's better to keep peace in the congregation and invite the immature ones, rather than invite who you really want to come.
