I had never seen a tract like that before . I never saw them distributed in the U K . We had a few "apostates" outside the conventions in those days but nothing printed in such a vivid style . It would fool anybody into thinking it was a WT tract until you read it through. ...and you kept it all this time? When I was active I would never have or retain anything like that , we were taught to walk past "apostates" with fixed smiles and never to speak..
Changeling. I think that the campaign that you refer to was a year or two earlier with a Kingdom News tract , was it called something like "Has Religion Betrayed God and Man?"?? We had 100 to distribute (by fair or unfair methods) within 10 days. Most of mine were stuffed into not - homes letterboxes

Your mentioning thise for some reason reminded me after my first ever post baptism convention at a fresh location in Manchester (early 80's). A group were parading outside the stadium with banners about Truth and Jesus. I decided to chat with them because I was so sure I had just placed my whole trust in Truth and Jesus. A pleasant man asked me about myself and when I said me and wifey were newly baptised with young children - he warned me to go inside the stadium otherwise I was in for trouble which made me laugh. I can still recall the look in his eyes. In seconds brothers were commanding me to move away and in no time several of them unknown to me were following close by until hey presto - the elder I had studied with was in front of me! Little did I know the of Truth that man, with his small band of demonstrators, spoke that day. I had been duped and he knew it!!

Hi R Crusoe,
I think i might be the man you met in Manchester,although i make no claim to be `pleasant` I led a team of "Apostates" at the Manchester Convention thro-out the eighties and into the early ninties. In fact i have some great video footage of those times. We met many people such as you and it was amazing how "security" would sheperd people away from us. Over the years i have heard from quite a few who would give the impression that they were ignoring us but they were reading our placards and taking down phone numbers. I remember one particular security guard. We called him "Blondie" and over the years we had to laugh at the methods he would use to try and stop people speaking to us. We had discovered the truth about the Watchtower and felt that we should share it.

A JWDer friend has supplied the 1976 Await! tract that I was missing. It's a companion to these other tracts. I should also note the author of these tracts was Mr. Rod Bias of Phoenix, Arizona. The Await! tract deals with whether Jesus was called God in the New Testament. It uses some argumentation I hadn't seen before. All in all, an interesting read and it can be downloaded at:
