Fried Green Tomatoes
[Evelyn is cut off in a parking lot]
Evelyn: Hey! I was waiting for that spot!
Girl : Face it, lady, we're younger and faster!
[Evelyn rear-ends the other car six times]
Girl: What are you *doing*?
Girl: Are you *crazy*?
Evelyn: Face it, girls, I'm older and I have more insurance.
Ninny: I found out what the secret to life is: friends. Best friends.
Ninny : A heart can be broken, but it will keep beating just the same.
Oh, yes! How could I forget Fried Green Tomatoes? I love that movie and could watch it over and over. Still makes me cry. Kathy Bates is amazing. And Jessica Tandy (rip) was a wonderful actress. There's absolutely nothing wrong about this movie. Everything works. Cicely Tyson.....wonderful. Mary Louise Parker and Mary Stuart Masterson had such chemistry together.
The home party with the "vagina" lady was simply hilarious! And I do love that parking lot scene!

I cried during "Rocky Balboa" {my wife thought I was nuts} I knew how for years, Sly had worked to try and get this movie done. The film finishes the story full circle and was as good as the first for which he got an Oscar.
American Graffti
the top of my list for all time is "the lion in winter" .... it is THE film for wickedly brilliant and pithy repartee, masterfully delivered by katharine hepburn and peter o'toole..... who were joined onscreen in the first feature film appearances for BOTH timothy dalton and sir anthony hopkins..... pardoning the occasional straying moments from historical accuracy..... it is a stunning period piece..... with a grandiose and gothically classic john barry soundtrack( composer for several "james bond" films, out of africa, enigma ) .......that yep, my all time fave!!!
with a massive swing of the pendulum.... elf...... what is not to love about that unapologetic, unspoilable innocence?
