When deflation is tackled by creating new money in the form of debt to private banks, the result is a spiraling vortex of debt and price inflation. The better solution is to put debt-free money into consumers' pockets in the form of wages earned. Workers are increasingly losing their jobs to "outsourcing." A government exercising its sovereign right to issue money could pay those workers to build power plants using "clean" energy, high-speed trains, and other needed infrastructure. The government could then charge users a fee for these services, recycling the money from the government to the economy and back again, avoiding inflation.

Russian style communism I don't know I would prefer we try to create a new American style of communism first.

we the people should skip the middlemen and create our own money, debt- and interest-free.

so if we create our own currency would you put your face on a coconut or what?

Are you suggesting a barter system? Or like the Indians...trade turquoise for sea shells? How would you regulate such currency.

Lets hear it. Maybe you will be elected the Apostate Treasurer and we will form our own trade system.

Left to right, groups of words followed by a period (.) make a sentence. Now, go back and read the article. Then read about 1913 and how the Federal Reserve Act was passed. Read your history about Andrew Jackson, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, etc, and their thoughts on turning over Banking to a private entity such as the Federal Reserve.

BA- I won't waste my time, there's simply too much information available to anyone who isn't too lazy to Google and read.

PS- This might get you started, however, provided you are willing to invest more time than it takes to listen to/read a sound bite (or its written equivalent):

Inflation is up over 2,000 % (Zimbabwe)

Actually the figure is 7, 000% - they don't even have any food stuffs to buy as companies were forced to drop their prices so people could buy food, once all the produce was off the shelves, companies refused to restock as they were losing so much money. It used to be a most beautiful and prosperous country, but it's President is extremely corrupt and is only worried about lining his own pocket.

I must say a lot of us South Africans are concerned that our country will go the same way. Inflation is constantly rising, we have about 4 interest hikes a year, our petrol prices increase about 4/5 times a year - things are just getting more and more expensive and crime is out of control!!!!! The crime will kill this country and all it has to offer. And our next possible president has been charged with dealing in arms and corruption, has been linked to major crime, has chosen criminals for the top positions in his Party - I may be looking to flee to the states.

Back to America------there's been a lot of news about the subprime rate....or something like that - definately effecting the markets. The dollar is still pretty stable, in a sense that it hasn't dropped or risen by that much, probably a few south african cents ( One dollar is worth about six rand and eighty cents - In South Africa - to give you an idea of the currency I earn R 24 000 a month but in dollars that only works out to $ 3 529 and then the tax man hits me for 26% )

credit card charges and fees for accepting them even if you use debit.

South African banks are notorious for this - we pay huge amount of fee for all our transactions - it's daylight robbery - our banks charges are amongst the highest in the world (along with our crime figures)

Personally I would be more upset if the stock market crashed because that is where all my money is.

I think if the banks fail the stock markets would crash. So far the stock market comes back after it crashes.

As far as I'm concerned weve been in a recesson since the dingbat got in office. They say when your neighbors out of work its a recession, when you are out of work its a depression. I've been through both since 9/11.

I guess the banks could fail. But I dont think about it. I'm 55 years old and someone has always played your part every year in my life. I just keep truckin.

When I was your age, I worried about it more than I do now. I think I've become numb which is not so good.

I used to buy silver. I used to burry money in the back yard. I keep a pantry. When 9/11 happened I bought two 55 gallon garbage cans and filled them with beans and canned goods, ham, spam, rice.

I paid my house off when I was 40 and have been out of debt since.

Do the best you can and thats all you can do then dont worry about it.

I dont use an atm. I go down to my bank every week and get money out.

Here in Florida, my banks change names faster than I can write the checks with their names on them.

My wife just bought a new car and used a check from my bank that was 3 names old. So my bank didnt recognize the name because it was 3 banks ago. Buy out name change x 3. One of my other banks tried to bounce it when she wrote the check out for the car loan. She had to go down and tell them that we cant write checks fast enough to use them up before they get bought out and change their names.

I tell my wife to tell them at the bank that I learned in the 10th grade that you can write a check on a cow as long as its got your account number on it.

She told them that and then everything was ok.

And they gave us a box checks with their new name on it.

Which I doubt we will be able to use up before they get bought out and change names again.

Thats the way its been rolling in Florida since Ronald Reagan was presidente.
