Personally I would be more upset if the stock market crashed because that is where all my money is.
I think if the banks fail the stock markets would crash. So far the stock market comes back after it crashes.
As far as I'm concerned weve been in a recesson since the dingbat got in office. They say when your neighbors out of work its a recession, when you are out of work its a depression. I've been through both since 9/11.
I guess the banks could fail. But I dont think about it. I'm 55 years old and someone has always played your part every year in my life. I just keep truckin.
When I was your age, I worried about it more than I do now. I think I've become numb which is not so good.
I used to buy silver. I used to burry money in the back yard. I keep a pantry. When 9/11 happened I bought two 55 gallon garbage cans and filled them with beans and canned goods, ham, spam, rice.
I paid my house off when I was 40 and have been out of debt since.
Do the best you can and thats all you can do then dont worry about it.
I dont use an atm. I go down to my bank every week and get money out.
Here in Florida, my banks change names faster than I can write the checks with their names on them.
My wife just bought a new car and used a check from my bank that was 3 names old. So my bank didnt recognize the name because it was 3 banks ago. Buy out name change x 3. One of my other banks tried to bounce it when she wrote the check out for the car loan. She had to go down and tell them that we cant write checks fast enough to use them up before they get bought out and change their names.
I tell my wife to tell them at the bank that I learned in the 10th grade that you can write a check on a cow as long as its got your account number on it.
She told them that and then everything was ok.
And they gave us a box checks with their new name on it.
Which I doubt we will be able to use up before they get bought out and change names again.
Thats the way its been rolling in Florida since Ronald Reagan was presidente.
