It's Not Hard For a JW to Write a "Worldly" Person Off Because......

they're gonna die anyway. When Witnesses think like this, they become hardened. They begin to believe that BILLIONS of persons are deserving of a catastrophic demise! They relish the thought that ALL non Witnesses are gonna die and ONLY JWS are gonna live forever! It makes them feel better, even special!

They act so "un-Christian"! They don't really care about other people's lives. They look at mansions, beautiful landscapes and material possessions of "worldly ones" with the desire to attain all the booty. Nice people, huh?

    Minimus,

I was just thinking of this this morning. Why should they create a relationship with those around them if they won't be around "much longer"?

Therefore, it is wise to keep oneself away from the "worldly ones".

When anybody has been labeled as "this, that, or the other" they have become depersonalized to the labeler. Then the labeler no longer has to meet them as real people, and if they aren't real then it's ok to treat them less than human, less than deserving of worth or honest attention. It seems the dubs have become masters at this, sanctioned by the teachings of the WTS, but we all do it to various degrees.

What saddens me more is that I think JWs do it more out of lack of love than out of fear or feeling that one will be marked.

Min's original post sounds harsh....but it is exactly what my dub relatives say when I raise issues about the morality of their beliefs. "They are all going to die anyway" is the bottom line of their argument.

Perhaps that is why they can be totally unmoved by film of starving people but horrified by a thought that something nasty might happen to an animal ???

I am afraid that dubdum has warped their thinking and they lose normal human judgement.. Frankly it is the same thought process as the terrorist ,or sympathiser, who believes it to be just and righteous that innocent lives are lost in the furtherance of their own cause...That is harsh too, but it is sadly true and shows me how the human mind can be misstreated

I do remember being rather flipent when it came to serious issues such as disease & starvation sufferred by so many in the world. It's all going to be taken care of soon enough and any of the surffering they now endure will be forgotten. And that's how I would sleep at night. The only time I saw any reaction was when a JW suffered.
