What did you learn as a JW that helps you in your work today

I am convinced there are many things I could have learned. The fact of the matter is, it all comes at a price. As a CO once inquired after my willingness to serve at bethel, I responded that I'd rather stay in the trenches than living in an asylum called bethel, insulated from the real world.

So maybe, I could say that I've learned not to be impressed by position and pressure.

Further, I am not haunted by nervous breakdowns when I have to make a presentation, whether the audience is only one person or a larger group.

On top I should say, comparing a lot of sales tricks with the KM presentations, I found a lot of similarities. So, exploring that avenue brought nothing new in the sense of format. It has brought new insights as to why! and that's something the WTS doesn't tell you.

Come very handy in my line of business.

    Cheers

    Public Speaking and presentations

I think I did learn public speaking very well. I enjoyed giving public talks and other talks. For years I did that for a living. I traveled to companies and taught classes in my industry, and I thoroughly enjoyed it (and was good at it).

The only thing I learned that is valuable is speaking in front of large audiences. Me TOO!!!

I am very good at communitcating and getting my point across within the workplace. This is NOT something that was relavent when I was witless, I just did as I was told.

However the freedom I now have, has allowed me to express myself and not to give up until the other person understands where I'm coming from,

I have a confindence that I have never had before.. can any one else relate?

So SORRY Lady lee; what I have learned is that my opinion matters just as much as any one elses. That differences in those opinions do happen but mine is valid as well as anybody elses.

I learned to be happy in my work, because JW's are the happiest people on the earth. lol

Well in years past, being able to put on a fake smile and pretend I was happy when I wasn't, that helped me some--Nowadays if Im unhappy, there is no faking it.

Absolutely nothing. If anything, I learned things that hurt my work, especially around Christmastime when the Christmas carols would distract from my performance (and give me a headache). All crap.
