When I was in Winnipeg I really missed the changing of the leaves. When I moved to Ottawa it was the first thing I wanted to see - I moved on October but only caught the end of it.
During the 5 years I was in Winnipeg I never got to see the Northern Lights. But here in Ottawa I think I may have seen a faint flow of them. Since my window faces north I just might get another chance to see them.
I remember my grandma taking us out after the Thursday night meeting (in Hamilton) for an ice cream sundae, but I can't remember the name of the place, but I think it was an Italian restaurant. Man, they made their own ice cream right there and they'd pour the warm butterscotch sauce over top of it, sliced bananas, chocolate sauce and real whipped cream.
Then there was White's Bakery that she'd take us to on Saturday afternoon......Their gingerbread men were to die for and their buttertarts so runny you'd need a plate to catch all the syrup.......
