Tell me what I should or shouldn't expect. There is a meet-up planned for this saturday at a local restaraunt. I see where they are expecting 13 plus to show up, from the RSVP. I can't say what I am expierencing here in anticipation.....trepidation, curiosity? help me out here........

Usually apostofests are opened with a few words of prayer blasphemy, followed with the singing of a kingdom song in reverse. "We're Jehovah's Shitnesses" is a favourite. Then everyone gets drunk and fornicates between the main course and dessert.

Actually, I was a bit hesitant about attending my first one, but everyone was friendly and we had a good time. I usually have a hard time meeting new people, but the common background is a great icebreaker.

I've had a great time at the meet-ups I've attended. I'd attend more but they are about ninety miles away and I really can't afford the gas right now.

The coolest part of attending one of these, is that you will be around people who understand you. You don't have to define terms or have people look at you funny when you mention "the cult" or any of the jw related terms.

Plus, it's very affirming to see with your own eyes other people who have escaped and are doing OK.

You can expect a lot of relaxed people having a good time. Attend with the idea that you are going to enjoy the experience. Everyone I've attended came off without any problems. Bug

It's exactly like a field service coffee break.

Except you're not out in field service. And you're not dressed up. And you don't have to worry about time, thinking about what return visits you're about to go on. And you're with people who actually aren't cult-controlled and want to be there.

And it's a pretty good time.

Except for all those things, it's just like a coffee break.

One more thing -- please come on board Sunday and tell us how you enjoyed your first meetup! I have ALWAYS enjoyed these, without exception.

When I went to my first gathering, I felt like I knew everyone in some small way, we all came out of that nasty devilish organizaiton and that was a common ground, Then you start eating and drinking and laughing and having the time of your life. I would go to all of them if it were possible.

You will go away feeling great and a little tipsy but that is okay at least no one is watching you underneath a mircroscope..

Have a grand time. You won't regret it..

    love Orangefatcat.
