I mentioned some of this in another post like the choice NYC real estate angle they own.
Also, in a non profit corp, the way the board members can profit is to say, set up a company that sells ink and sell it to the Society. The IRS is tightening up on non profits, where officers or board members profit directly or indirectly, to prevent such a scenario. This type of thing happens all the time.
Think about it. If the GB members set up trucking, insurance, packaging companies or simply sales companies that they ran building supplies through, they could make billions. The Corp. i.e. the Society would show no profit, yet it bought 10 million dollars in ink from some other for profit corp.
Incidentally, this type of stuff happens all the time. Like I said the IRS is tightening up on it but I'm sure their are loopholes.
What am I missing?

I know what you mean. I worked for a promotions company that toured with NHRA and NASCAR. They needed several simi-trucks decked out and fancy as hell, front to back. The owner set up a leasing company, so he leases the trucks he needs from himself.
Sounds just like something the Tower would do.

Who is in for the money? Is it the GB? What scheme?
They have accumelated real estate for 140 years as needed due to expansion all over the world but getting rid of it because of cutbacks,
moving more printing to the farm and so on.
Even though i feel the GB live like earthly kings i don't think they are rich materially.
As far as i know they make the same amount of money as any bethelite.
They are a rich corporation because of having 7 mil. menbers and have been around for quite a few years just like most religions,
They are a snare and racket

There was a heck of a lot of food for thought along these lines on this thread from last year: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/129669/1.ashx

That tends to be true. They live a high life. They jet around the world until
their health won't allow it anymore. They don't stay on local elder's fold-out
couches. Those green handshakes are hefty, but they aren't going to make
them millionaires. The Governing Body members, themselves, don't benefit from the business
sold to WTS, but their friends and families do.This is one of those areas that makes it tough to help a JW see the light.
The GB members act as if they really believe the nonsense, and there is no
clearcut visible "stealing" or "profit" from what they do. Members are told
that they get a room at Bethel the same way anyone does, but most of them
have been there a long time, so their rooms are nicer by seniority. What a
crock. Tell me that if they chose someone from outside of Bethel, he would
get a room shared with a couple of 20 year-olds?Still, they sacrifice a bunch to get where they got. I think they would never
walk away when/if they woke up because they have nothing outside of what
they have with WT. They lived like paupers for so long that it's nice to live
like a king. -

Its like a nun or a monk - because you gave up your life and stresses of being in the mix with modern society don't mean you are hard wired to Divine Reality and all you say is straight from the top dog!

I hate to disagree with you on this one but i think they would not get away with it if they did. It's a lifetime job they have, no one quits, they die on the job, so there would no need in laudrying money. I hope you don't think that the US government planned 9/11 .

The fact is, the WTB&TS is so non-transparent, it is virtually impossible (at this time) to know what they have done and still do fiscally.
It is possible that the lawyers and executives (or their family members and/or cronies) have outside companies set up to milk the organization; it's
possible that money is in offshore accounts in the names of secondary corporations; it's possible that it is being invested by individuals
high up in their financial management dept. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE because they are not required to answer to their "members" in
any way, shape, or form. The flock is supposed to follow them blindly and just continue to fork over $$$ to them, no questions asked!
This is all speculation, of course..........but it IS possible.
