I love New England... I always used to read Nathaniel Hawthorne on the front portch of my house in Georgia when I was a kid and think that many of his characters were like JW's....

THere's a place near the Cape, called Buzzard's Bay, I used to sit there for hours eating "steamers" and drinking beer, and on the Cape, what a beautiful place.... I love the Southland, and will always live here, but I miss New England...

The "Hawthorne Hotel" in Salem, Mass. That was like a home to me, I'd walk in the door and they'd always say, "hello Mr. Huff"... I'd get drunk at the local pub and be out there at the Cemetery in the middle of town taking Ghost photos at 12AM. Then I'd have a night capper at the pub next to the commons in Salem, at the Hawthorne, a fire would be burning and I'd look out over that big window that looked out over the commons...... God, I miss New England...

I've always said the south has it's Ghosts, but New England does too... the mystery is the same the places change... Savannah, Georgia reminds me of Salem, and don't get mad my New England bros. But it doesn't get too cold there in Savannah, and the Moss hanging from the trees makes a spooky scene that must be witnessed... but to my New England people, I love you all, and I miss the scenic beauty of Concord, and Gloster, and many other places I've had the pleasure to see....Please let me visit one of you one day, I pray I see New England one day, OK I'm drunk but still... I love New England... do any of you live near Salem and do any of you have an interesting Ghost story...

My neighbor grew up in a mansion her dad's family built long before the Civil War, or War of Northern Aggression, as her mama says. It stands on 600 acres. I asked her if it was haunted, I got that feeling from the pics on her walls. She said, "Sure, but they are all my kin so I'm not scared of them". I love the South for the ghosts and history.

Me too Momz... the South is special... this year I toured Gettysburg, there's not a resident there that hasn't had a ghost expierence... if you don't believe what they say when they tell a story, they say, I don't give a fu%% if youbelieve it or not...they know it's true.

I grew up in Cooperstown NY. There are haunted houses all over town. We lived in one, the lady that used to own the house got ticked off whenever her portrait was taken down. My best friend lived next to us in hosue that was haunted by the ghost of a slave that had killed himself while hidden by the underground railroad. There was a Native American in the cemetary on the other side of us that kept kicking a rock out of a retaining wall.

Cheers dawg, I miss the south. I was born in Charlottesville, Virginia and now live in Ohio.

I miss the manners, the slower pace, the sugar this and over yonder that!

There's one in Dedham Mass, the story goes that a girl was trapped in a fire. The older houses around here have to put in permanent winter window which are hard to open, they couldn't get to her in time and she died clawing at the window to get out. At night you can still see the outline in her window. It's quite creepy. I live in Rhode Island where apparently there's some freaky shite going on around Mercy Brown's grave site in Hope, RI. I'm pretty sure it's because of all the folks that go there for Halloween. I've also heard about Lovecraft coming out from beyond the grave.

dawg, I grew up in a small farm town north of Concord, NH in a 150 year old farmhouse on 200 acres. Went to school in a two room schoolhouse till I went to JH.

It was haunted. I experienced some weird shit there growing up.

Then I lived in Boston during the 80s, Used to hang out in Salem and Newburyport.

I Love NH, Just can't afford to live there.

I love it where I live now, Central NY, beautifual and affordable.

I was born in Salem. Lived there until school age. Our first KH was in Salem on Canal st. Now its vacant with a for sale sign on it.

Always lived in and around Salem until 5 years ago when I moved 20 miles north. I miss it. All the best resturants are in that area right on up to Gloucester. (correct spelling)

I got my first hickey in the concrete gazebo on Salem Common. (I know, TMI) I also saw Elizebeth Mongomery hanging out a window at the Hawthorne Hotel when I was young.

BTW, the only ghosts I ever saw, were my own.
