I have 3 sisters and a brother. My sister that was 2 years younger than I am, we didn't get along. Since I was the oldest, I tend to take the rap for whatever happened. If she got "lost"...it was my fault. If she felt "lonely"...it was my fault. I resented her ever since I can remember.

Now that I'm older, mom & dad ignores me but she still thinks of me. Here's what she sent...

    A VERY NICE CARD...

    (in her writing) Dear Regina,

(The front of the card says....)

"Knowing you is something really special-

but having you as a friend sister is liike a

ray of sunshine on cloudy days.

To make a long story short....(inside the card, her writing only...exactly as it's written...spelling and all..)

Hope you and the kids are doing fine. Me and xxxx and the boys are all fine We all miss you verry much We all love you verry much Hope you had a good chrismas Here's $10 get you and the kids something Late chrismas gift

    Love,

    (my sister and family)

Please write and let me know that you got this card and monney.

Here, my sister and I didn't get along when we were growing up. After we both left the borg, she is the only one that cares enough to think about me and my kids. Believe me, I will be writing her a letter. She made me cry...a cry of, "omg, my baby sister (who I treated badly growing up) still thinks about me". She doesn't know what this card meant to me. She could have left the money out and it would have meant a great deal.

It's funny who and what can change huh? I couldn't stand my sister growing up or as grown ups sometimes. She's very self righteous at times and her way is usually the best way. But since we both left the borg we have become closer. It's just us and our brother now.

Sounds like your sister is a sweetie and still wants you for a sister even though...

The thing is...my sister is a sweetie. She has a "learning disability" which at the time I had trouble dealing with. Now that I'm working with children...one in particular...a nine year old that is still in second grade...his mother is about to put him into special ed. I've been working with him and he is very smart. He's giving up on life, so to speak. He's not being challenged academically. Since I've worked with him one on one, he aced his spelling test. I believe that's where my sister was.

I feel bad that I treated my sister so rotten when growing up...but I also realize that I was only a child and blamed her because in my eyes, she was the "blame". In reality, it was my parent.

That was so sweet of her.

    That's fantastic.

I'd wager a bet that you're her hero.

Don't be too hard on yourself - the past is gone, the present is a gift.

I never got on with my sister that well - the age gap was 6 years and our personalities were so different. I used to feel she was cramping my style. LOL.

Now, we are both out of the org and are the best of friends - I love her to pieces.

There's nothing like family when you love and support one another unconditionally.

Hope you have some special times ahead with her.

    FF,

That is so nice that your sister still has contact with you! I have zero contact with my siblings, but there is only one that I would want to talk to anyway.

Hopefully you can make up for lost time as adults.

Take it from an only child, having siblings is a wonderful thing.
