Is the fact that they are printing fewer magazines, like having just one Watchtower for a whole month indicate financial troubles?

    Definitly a cost saving measure.

I think the appeal of the internet is just too much. I am sure they aren't loosing too much money but it's just a logical move finance wise, even if they were making tons to begin with. Kind of like how newspapers are still profitable just not profitable enough for the people that own them.

In my opinion, the WTS has slowly been losing momentum on its cash flow since the change to the donation arrangement in 1990 in the US and in 2000 worldwide. They do have a lot of pricey real estate. They have a "forced" arrangement of draining cash from the circuit and district assemblies, doing it off the top before the bills are paid. I anticipate that they will continue to sell property in Brooklyn until all of it is sold. They have transferred printing and other administrative duties to Wallkill and Patterson. Also, the rank and file are donating less if I can judge that by my husband ten years as a MS and seeing the local donations drop off. If it weren't for 6 or 7 familes many congregations would have the lights turned off or the phone.

The WTS will be forced to put the mags online because when crude oil hits 200 a barrel it will cost the WTS more moeny to print mags/books than it will receive from revenue.

I remember when they went to donations. I thought, well this is the real test. It doesn't seem to be doing well.

    YES.

The drive to increase donations is because they do not want to have to cash in any of their stocks and bonds or sell off property.

As the very wealthy know well, you should always live off last years income, and NEVER if at all possible spend any of your capital investments.

Wait 'till tomorrow. Aparrently all the world markets took a huge hit today and last week and the only thing that saved the Dow is MLK day. The TSE lost 604 points today along with world markets taking hits as well. That's money that just vanishes into thin air.

If the WTS has a stock portfolio (and they do I beleive) , they would have lost plenty. Tomorrow they might be crying in their Kool-Aid.

Personally I have no stocks, just guaranteed income certificates, but even that will eventually need to be renewed. No advice for anyone for tomorrow, but if you have stocks, I would consider cashing in if you can realize a profit.

Definitely not good news, and today in Canada is now referred to as black Monday.

    Let's hope so!

In fact are my prayers are that they run out of cash and go bankrupt.

    All the best,

Unfortunately Stephen, a LOT of deserving people are losing tons and don't deserve this. It's usually the stock broker that encourages (to the point of lying) you to invest. To those I feel bad-for those who are looking for a fast buck, well that's how the cookie crumbles. We will see tomorrow. Bill.

I agree with Blondie. In the past year or so I have noticed that @C.A.,SAD,C.O. visits they are saying.Be more productive don't waste time on people who just take the Mags.Find people who you can convert. They say IF IF a dead R.V. wants a Mags go and give him one but don't spend time with him.Going from door to door is the most productive in finding (sheep) suckers. In other words mags costing mother corp to much money to just give away without results.

I believe the WBTS is in the process of weaning the R&F from the Mags.In the near future the WT/A will not be offered to the public costs to much for mother corp.Notice how they the GB slowly introduced only one AWAKE,than only one WATCHTOWER to the public.Notice how they bragg about the suceessful tract campaigns.Testing the R&F with their marketing schemes.

About dead beat R.V.This reminds me of multilevel marketing. If any of you that have been involved in MLM remember what your upline told you.Don't waste your time on losers by giving your materials away ie,books, tapes etc, fine someone who is really interested.Well that is what I'am hearing from the platform in the K.H. today.Don't give Mags away, cut your orders down it's costing us to much money.Don't waste your time on losers. Also they can't recoup their losses because of the donation arrangement and the tax laws.

The R&F are just giving to many Mags away for free. When the WBTS offered the mags for a printing cost I thought that was a good idea, because if a person paid something at least he would look at it.Howvever the wbts bragged about how this free lit offerred was so good that people really wanted the mags and would garb them out of your hand.HAHAHAHAHA I said yeah the Catholics were only to happy to grab them out of your hand so they could throw them in the grabage. The WBTS now knows the real story behind the free lit offer.Bet your bottom dollar the free lit offer is going by the way of the DOO DOO bird.

You can now download their mags from their www site saves them more money.
