They misplace Romans Chapter 8: verses 16,17...it says....

The spirit itself bears witness with our spirit that we are God's children. If we then we are children, we are also heirs, heirs indeed of God, but joint heirs with christ, provided we suffer together that we may also be glorified together.

THey're saying that the spirit bears witness.....only to the anointed

They leave out the previous verses that say "all that are guided by the spirut of god are sons of God" If all are guided by god's spirit then all must be annointed... it goes on to say that God gave his son for all of us... its obvious they are taking the scripture out of context, that combined with John 6, which says if you do not eat my flesh and drink my blood everlasting life isn't in you.

So once again, they are wrong... can't wait for cuz to visit, he says hios studdies becasue of me have casued him to believe the JWs even more... we;ll see his answers when he gets here.

I tried to explain the scriptural explanation for the JW reasons for having only a select few partake. As you no doubt noticed, the answer is so obvious that the govenring body only needed 8 scriptures from 10 books of the bible, taking up 3 study articles of one WT. See, its that simple.

Dawg, the only reason I can't explain it is that I never had a clue where they got it. I was a freakin' child for christ's sake! I never questioned. That was my first mistake. Of course, little children don't really questions their parents that much. Except for stuff like "why is the sky blue" and simple stuff like that.

There's not, Abandoned. That's why I wracked my brain all day trying to remember. The alternate view of the new covenant makes much more sense to me.

Hey Dawg, remember that when Jesus was telling the pharisees they were shutting up the kingdom of heaven? That's a good starting point.

Your question made me just realize... JW's teach that Jesus' illustration about 'caring for Christ's brothers' applies to how we treat the 'anointed'.

Yet wouldn't that parable then also mean that WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FEEDING THEM, not the other way around?!

Also, whoever said the JW's are full of crap had it right. Don't try to figure out the logic. Hey, maybe instead of trying to prove points to your cousin, ask HIM to explain to you about your question. Maybe he can do it better than we can, because he knows the truth or what-not.

dawg the wt is using cor. 1 11;27-29 etc and the KEY WORD IN THESE VERSES IS UNWORTHY. as to say only the 144000 are worthy. In a nut shell that's about all they have. they try to tie this in with jn 10;16 other sheep.
