Dianah, I agre about greed, that why I believe in regulation
The problem is I trust the gov't even less than I trust the corporates. It is like letting thieves monitor thieves. They will ask for a share and look the other way. I say hang the lot and start over again. It will stay clean for a couple of generations. Then lather rinse repeat.

Yes, we can all just toil away as serfs for the government. That's a much better system.

There is no telling any longer where one begins and ends. There are so many hands in the pot at every level that there is simply no way to tell who's greasing whose palm...the only thing we do know is that the whole system is full of corruption, greed and destruction. I agree - lets start over, but let's all decide on our values first. We have the Republicans fighting to stay in a war that costs $500,000 per minute - 2 million dollars a day!! but we are letting veterans sleep in the woods. We have the Democrats allowing this crap to happen and looking spineless in the interim. How great is our society when 84,000 people are caught up as prey in the latest banking scheme but nobody is held accountable? We scream about the social security fund being broke - a piddling amount invested to allow our seniors and elderly to live with some dignity - yet, the debt that has amassed in this fund is a direct result of the dollars being taken out to use for the war effort and a notion that those earning over $100,000 should pay nothing toward the fund. A correction to those two actions - refusal to allow any monies to be removed from the fund unless it is applied to those in the fund - and - removing the cap on social security payments so that every single person pays the same rate, would put the whole fund in a better place than it started. Why are we paying a 50 billion dollars to a company in the USA that trains mercenaries but can't provide healthcare for every single kid in this country? Until there is some sort of agreement in the country on how we value ourselves, our society, our country as a whole - until we determine how we want to be valued in the rest of the world - and until we agree on those values, this will remain a country divided. sammieswife.

I see Ron Paul and Ronald Regan at two opposite ends of the spectrum even though they are called republicans.
Reagan was a radical and Ron Paul is a conservative, like our founding fathers.
Dont worry Ron Pauls not going to win. And Amerika is not going to get fixed. Ron Paul couldnt fix Amerika but he could point us in the right directions.
Dennis Kucinich would have been the best for Amerika but he doesnt have a chance either.
There is really no one looking out for the working man. The politicians let all of the good jobs with benefits leave the country. With out good manufacturing jobs and benefits, we are like Zimbabwe, Malawai, we are a third world country.
We probably cant even make the armaments that we broker to the rest of the world.
We are a country of insurance salesman, web designers and conter help. They could do that in Africa.
Like Ross Perot said the sucking sound you hear will be all of the jobs leaving Amerika from Nafta. That was in the 80's.
