A random acquintence told me she could "read" people. Now, I was very skeptical, however, I was surprized by what she told me, even naming my favorite brother, (who she could not have known about), specific family details, something very private about myself and told me I would meet a certain man, and was very detailed about it. Now, maybe it was chance that she guessed alot of this right, but it doesn't seem likely, she even mentioned that I hated having my bellybutton touched due to a surgery scar I have on it, which was dead on.

So, I think there are some individuals who can either sense or see things most of us cannot. I have no idea why or how, but she sure knew alot about me, with no prior knowledge and told me some interesting things about my future that have now come to pass.

The first time I went to a psychic, she was very accurate. She even accurately predicted my grandmother's accident and death. I've been to a couple more after that but they were full of crap. I no longer go.

so i guess my probing is,... what do we make of this?

I have never been to a psychic but I have "worldly" family that have and they have known details that could not be "generic" like meeting a special love or having a good or bad experience. I know ppl personally that have had Ouji board experiences, one reinstated brother I know had one while DF'd with friends in the room using a Ouiji board, I knew him well and know he was not lying.

My faith has been shaken to the point where I have almost lost all hope/faith in god, but what of these experiences? Do I believe in god because I believe in spirits or demons?
How does a person "know" you from a telephone conversation? There is obviously something out there. The question is what?

Sorry for my philisophical banter, I am just very lost right now. I appreciate your sharing

    Confused? Welcome to my world.

If remote viewing is real ( and I believe it is), then somehow our minds must be part of a larger, universal mind. This is also a suggested

explanation for various effects in quantum physics. This quickly leads to pantheism ( God is everything, everywhere interconnected).

In addition, read Sheldrake's book "Dogs that know when their owners are returning home and other unexplained powers of animals"

    Long Title, interesting book.

I played with tarot cards for a couple of years - I don't believe in the occult at all. However, the tarot cards are useful to helps us see patterns in our thoughts and behavior and those of the people around us. I remember I laid out the cards for someone and asked her what each card meant to her. I told her they are just pictures that would help her tell a story. So she told me what she thought each card meant, there were cards relating to family and betrayal, love, more betrayal. She said she thought it meant her husband was cheating on her. Interestingly she gave me credit for the insight - I must be psychic! - but the truth was she was already thinking that on some level and the pictures just allowed her to say what she suspected. Turns out, he was cheating on her.

Never had the kahoonas to try it but I did meet a person in Alaska years ago that had an amazing skill or talent in which he could know what I was thinking, planning to do or other bizzar stuff. He amazed me on several occassions with his "insights". I met up with him three years ago here in Oregon. He was in his late 70's and still had the same ability to tell me what I had been doing, what I was planning to do and other things that noone but I knew. He just laughs when I expressed my astonishment... One strange dude! carmel

You know as an ex JW that you are not worried about spirits when you can talk with one who claims to and feel as though you are talking to a householder and trying to understand them! It helps you rationalise everything they say whilst being completely unworried even if it they are right - like learning a new recipe or whateva -say to yourself, Oh right - I never knew that!'

And sweetstuff, if you came to me dressed like your avatar I'd be pretty odds on you had a belly piercing and maybe even a tattoo on your lower back!

Percentage games are often played, but only you can evaluate whether you feel that's what's happening!

It's a good point. I guess I'm not completely de-programmed cause even though I'm curious about it, just thinking about going to one gives me the hibbie-jibbies.
