The doctrine of living on earth is more desirable and makes more sense than floating in heaven.
I think that once more of them discover that Islam has a similar belief it will be the end of them one way or another.
Is the Watchtower loosing it's grip on the membership??

Satire? obviously some, but this was not all satire. If so it rivals Steven Rice on the "Dry sense of humour scale". Maybe i read into more than WTW meant BUT.......
It still comes across as a stretch. If you are joking around put a or a . At least then "Losers" like me wont presume you are 'not' breaking your typical M.O.

I may be wrong, but if my Pioneer JW sister is any example, more and more of them are leading double lives ... one that they let the other JWs see and one that they are really living. For instance, my sister chose to attend the birthday party of her only grandchild. I asked if she was telling her JW friends, and for once she didn't cover for them but just simply said, "No, I only told my Pioneer partner who is attending the birthday party of her elderly (parent) next week. I know she won't tell anyone." I hope she's right about that.
My sister sent me a Christmas present this year, wrapped in Christmas paper. No pretense of it just "happening" to arrive around Christmas time but not "really" being a present, as in years past. She sent a birthday present, too, the same way, wrapped in birthday paper.
When she came to visit there were a lot of little things that she did now that she hadn't done before, like adding a firm "Amen!" after my husband or I said prayers. Used to be that she wouldn't even close her eyes or even pretend to be a part of the prayer. It was more like, "I'm counting the boards on the floor so I don't have to listen!" So this is a big change. And she doesn't use JW-speak anymore when we ask her to be the voice for prayer.
She also never says things like, "I'll come visit you this summer, IF this system hasn't ended by then." That used to be a mantra for her whenever anything future was discussed. She believed each night was the last. In the morning it would be Paradise. Only it never was.
There are a lot of little things that seem to be adding up to a big change of heart for her, though I know if I ask her directly, she'll deny any deviation from her former hard-line Pioneer stance.
So I just don't ask. How many other JWs are doing exactly the same?

I am hearing a lot of that stuff.
Of course the Witness reply is "in the kast days the love of many will cool off". I don't knwo how that fits with the "great ingathering" or "look how much the organizations hs grown" mantras.
Ya' can't have it both ways!

ISNRBLOG- Very good thread ! Thanks for starting it ! Good points ! I feel the Watchtower Society is gradually losing grip on it's members as some have said - due to the information supplied on the internet.Jehovah's Witnesses have been under " mind control" and " information control " for so many years and have not been allowed to access important information they need to hear to make informed, intelligent decisions on leaving the witness cult. But now, the ability to access that information is changing.
However , the governing body I'm sure is quite concerned about losing control of these people as is evidenced by their Kingdom Ministry Question Box in September strongly counseling it's witness members that they don't need to do any research " outside of the organizations publications. Everything they need is here. " Those kind of comments are indicative of an organization shaking in it's collective boots about losing members . Which , yes, is starting to happen, and gradually will continue happening as time goes on . I hope many get free of the Watchtower societies grasp - and lead free lives again ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper
