"After The Goldrush"Well, I dreamed I saw the knights
In armor coming,
Saying something about a queen.
There were peasants singing and
Drummers drumming
And the archer split the tree.
There was a fanfare blowing
To the sun
That was floating on the breeze.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
Look at Mother Nature on the run
In the nineteen seventies.
I was lying in a burned out basement
With the full moon in my eyes.
I was hoping for replacement
When the sun burst thru the sky.
There was a band playing in my head
And I felt like getting high.
I was thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Thinking about what a
Friend had said
I was hoping it was a lie.
Well, I dreamed I saw the silver
Space ships flying
In the yellow haze of the sun,
There were children crying
And colors flying
All around the chosen ones.
All in a dream, all in a dream
The loading had begun.
They were flying Mother Nature's
Silver seed to a new home in the sun.

I've been a fan of Neil's since I was 11 in 1970. It would be hard to pick a favorite LP or song. I love his first LP and named my aol screen name after a song on that LP. Neil was important to my first husband and me. I bought him After the Goldrush for his 18th birthday.
Andy and I also share a love of Neil and we saw him in concertn in 2003. That was one of the highlights of my life.
I especially love the song he wrote and performed on Deja Vu with CS&N called Country Girl medley. I cannot express how much his music means to me. His lyrics, read without music are very good alone as poetry.

"Four Strong Winds"
I used to have the words written on a small sheet of paper taped to the wall of my office-room.
I like other tunes of his... but this one just 'sang' to me - for some reason.

I love the song Don't Let It Bring You Down. The Four Way Street Version is my favorite. Neil says before the song."Here's a song that's guarenteed to bring you right down. It's called Don't Let It Bring You Down. (laughter from the audience with one guy just guffawing out loud). It starts out real slow and then it fizzles out all together."

I have You Tube running on another tab and everytime you guys put up a new Neil Young song, I pull it up and have it playing in the background.
Having a Neil Young festival right now! Awesome!
