I will admit that I am not a big fan of much of the music that came out of the counterculture. However, I am a huge fan of The Doors. I find their music to be so far above the other music of that time.

My favorite album of The Doors is L.A. Woman, and my favorite song is Love Her Madly, with The End a very close second.

I would be interested in your thoughts.

Of course! Rocking out to "Light my Fire," long version, on my tiny tiny aqua transitor radio when I was a teenybopper.

And Jim was one sexy guy to a teeny bopper. I've made two pilgrimages to his grave. (not the only reason I went to France but it sounds good.)

Edited to add: Forgot the songs, LA woman, The End, so many...

I saw The Doors in the fall of 1967 in Seattle. Great show. I like too many of their songs to list them.

I have loved the Doors since I heard Light My Fire when it was popular. I was too young to know the Doors or anyone else were counter culture. I just loved all the music of that time. It was so far superior to most fluff/crap that passes for music these days.

Touch Me and Crystal Ship are my favorites. I have amazing memories of Touch Me and the song still sends me into the stratosphere due to how good it is and the memories to which it's attached.

For me it is Crystal Ship, The End, and Riders On The Storm.

For karaoke, I love to sing LA Woman, I do a great stoned Jim Morrison.

yep. Got my best of cd. Really old hat but still don't mind every once and again. I think every classic rock band does the road house blues song. keep your eyes on the road and hand up on the wheel ....
