Well done Sunnygal - and comrades.

It's good to see people being vaccinated against the demon cult from hell.
You have just become one of my heroes. Good for you Sunnygal41!
thank you, all, dear friends/brothers/sisters who have had the courage to leave a destructive, mentally controlling cult..........i will pass along the kudos from you all to my other friends who had major parts last night............"WE" stood together, in truth, speaking from our hearts, in the hopes, as we told them, that we could save as many as possible from ever having to go through what we went through..........ALL our stories are pretty heart rending.........and, as one ex said last night: "we all carry deep scars" no one here has NOT shed tears. ALL of US play our parts to help others to heal, to become better people. And, even though the night was originally supposed to be a "Meet Your Neighbor" (spiritually) the original two ex's who were invited were able to use it as a "Witness against the WTS Cult" They shared the spotlight with their other friends, for which i am deeply grateful, because it has provided yet another great healing for me and for countless others..........

There is only one thing I could think of that would increase your happiness.
Write to the CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES at Patterson and give them a synopsis of your speech to the Church members and their reaction to hearing that they are "bird food" so that the Service Committee members could enjoy it too.
sunny thats AWESOME............
a couple years ago as we were leaving church....... we saw a booth set up. this in and of itself wasnt unusual..... every week they have another booth set up for helping a differnt bunch of people. food for homeless or toys for orphans, various missionary trips to third world countrys.... etc. this week tho it was different.... the sign said........ JEHOVAHS WITNESSES......... and my wife stopped and i grabbed her arm and kept walking...... when we got out of that hall i was like WTH....... so she got all curious and looked up what ministry that could be......... it was for christians....... telling them how to deal with jehovahs witnesses........ and helping those who agreed to study with witnesses to understand what they were getting into...... also to help THE JEHOVAHS WITNESSES who now attended that church............
so you guessed it..... next sunday there the man was again......... so three hours later............. we finished talking to the brother who was running it. he was a witness who was dfed 14 yrs ago and who started studying the bible on his own. so he had meetings for US and the 30-40 people who used to be jws and meetings to help others understand what jws were about.
so we got asked to speak at a couple of those........ and we did. same response...... looks of disbelief and shock and then sympathy and welcome. they of course didnt have a clue what jws were before and they knew for sure afterwards. ....................... a couple of weeks later..... this church totally rocks yall...... it has its own diner....... fabulos place. so me and the wife were eating there before a service......... about and hour and a half before............ so to pass the time we pulled out a deck of cards and i was proceeding to beat her at gin......... mercilessly........... and the waiter walked by and paused....... looked at both of us.........
now i was completely expecting a fanatical christain who was gonna chastise us for playing cards in their near empty cafe...... instead he says................. NOW WHAT WOULD THE WATCHTOWER SOCIETY THINK OF YOU PLAYING CARDS IN PUBLIC.................. lol
i looked shocked and was like............ do we know you............ um............. yeah he was at one of those meetings and we all cracked up. i guess i had that deer in the headlights look lol.
lot of fun to be had at churches telling them the TRUTH about the society.............. congrats again
It's wonderful that you have taken a stand and made it public. I think it is excellent to share this information to enlighten others.
But my question is this....the people you are speaking to in this church....they may have their own blindsided agendas, too.
Is this one of those churches where they believe they are all going to sprout wings and "FLY AWAY"????
Do they believe that everyone who doesn't think like they do will be "left behind" to suffer the atrocities of Tribulation and Armageddon?
A lot of those churches teach that "they" are special to God. Same type of narcissistic arrogance as the WTS promotes but a little different twist on the story line.
All same-same, though. "They" will be rescued and everyone else that thinks "differently" will be tormented and/or killed.
There is just as much BS in some of the churches as there is in the JWs. Hopefully, by exposing what you have learned through your hard experience, (and the others as well) maybe some of the "christians" will also come forward with the baloney teachings in their circles, too.
Taking a stand for truth is what it is all about.
Good for you.

quandry.............lol! me and my friend have thought of making a christmas card with the picture of them celebrating xmas at Bethel and taping it to the local KH we used to attend, but, YOUR idea sounds even better!!!
primitive genius..........thank you for that wonderful story/experience........sounds like a pretty amazing church.........and you too know how it feels to be able to share the hurt with other sympathetic souls.....
tula..........BINGO! my thought is this: IF there were any such minded in the audience that night, then hopefully they could do some soul searching on their own part...........i have to say that there were a couple who sounded very much inclined towards that sort of smug self satisfaction/fanaticism and I felt uncomfortable around them, and that is also what bothered my ex jw friend, she used the words "too close for comfort" and even though I've been out eight years, I too felt the same way...........anyways, it was a one shot deal and hopefully it did ALOT of good. I was proud of all of us cuz we pulled NO punches.
Good Job
Congrats Sunny,
I wish I could have been there.
