OK I got my world population infor from here.

    http://www.ibiblio.org/lunarbin/worldpop

If the JWs have an average of 6.7 million publishers and there are 6.7 billion people in the world then simple math tells us the publisher to population ratio is 1:1000 . I will update this thread as I get information which I do not have in front of me at the moment because I am at work.

In 1980 the worlds population was 4.5 million and yet there were 2.5 million witnesses - so the JW: World population ratio was 1:1800

In 1990 the worlds population was 5.2 million

CURRENT 1:1000 - I am using average publishers not peak publishers.

So there is no question they are growing - just not nearly as fast as from about 1981 -1993 when the growth rate was tremendous

EXACTLY -and the worlods population grwoth rate is increasing

... Which means that even the JW birth rate can't sustain growth for the religion, since otherwise it would indicate a lower brith rate (or higher death rate) than the rest of the world (which is probably not the case since the "sample pool" [almost 7 million people] is so large.)

One can only wonder how many of them are going to end up finding out that they have been wasting their time and discontinue the field circus. Or, how many put in fake time slips every month to look good (or go out and do dummy service).

No - we passed the maximum growth per time (rate) in 1980/81 (world pop) and the growth rate per capita is also dropping.

I say that the reason for the pop in the mid 90's is the fall of the Soviet Union in the early 90s and the resulting increase "over there". Last years increase I can't figure out- Just all of the drum beating, I guess
