I used to be a big NFL fan and had a close friend who knew Joe Gibbs personally that would score me tickets. I even played the football pool at work and won twice (w/ no help from anyone). However, these past few years I have lost interest and didn't even know that the Skins were in the playoffs until they lost.

To each his/her own.
97.5 million viewers watched the Superbowl so someone other than me must have been interested!

I used to like auto racing. Went to a lot of racing events in my younger days. Tried watching the D-500 today (trying to find a replacement for football) It was so goddamn boring I decided to go for a walk in spite of my lingering gout. It was a beautiful day and I really enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine. Watched a tug pushing 3 huge barges of grain down the river. Whitecaps on the water, very windy. Saw a bald eagle hunting from it's big stick nest in a tall tree by the river.

I went to a Super Bowl party at a club in DC this year. The past 5 or more years there have been close to 4000 attending this party. This year there couldn't have been more than 200 people there and I fell asleep on a sofa in the VIP room. We left at halftime and I watched the last 2 minutes before the new episode of House came on.

I can remember a talk at the boasting session that Satan has made sure that the number of days without any major sports can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Basketball and hockey are in season, and baseball will soon be coming up before the other sports end.
Then, I can say the same thing about Christmas. It sucks having no Christmas lights on houses during the evenings (as if they put up that many as it was). I also liked listening to the music (which I didn't while I was a witless), and I felt that, should some of those witlesses try to get me, that they would have to deal with that music (plus I would find the Christmas decoration section and hide there so they would pay for it with a headache). Now I can't--and I have to wait a lot longer than football fans do.
Or, you could get a video game system and play video games. There are many, including football, to choose from--and you don't have to worry about the Watchtower Society telling you which ones not to play (just play them anyway).

5G,
February is sort of a black hole in the sports calendar. March Madness with NCAA basketball playoffs is coming soon, and soon there will be baseball. And in another 7 months, the NFL will be back!!!!
