I can't find the songs I want on youtube. I'll work on it.
Anyway, I use to call it white-black music. How about Van Morrison 'Into the mystic', among others.

Thanks, everybody: I can't wait to get the time to listen to all your contributions. Thank you, McDucket. I think it's awesome that you included Charlie Rich and Kenny Loggins.
I just thought of Rick Astley Cry For Help. And what about Robert Palmer Slippin' with Sally Through the Alley and Addicted to Love?
I've got a whole list going. Here's one from my list:
Joe Cocker Feelin' Alright: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UcfL7ZGj4I

Very cool that Bee Gees made the list
Van Morrison is my list, too. Into the Mystic is my favorite. He did one called Kingdom Hall about a pub. He has a connection to the JW's in his childhood.
JK666, it made me feel like a teenager just reading your description of riding in your car and Humble Pie. Smokin' and Rockin' The Filmore, excellent. We used to dance to 30 Days in the Hole. We copied the dance from Simon the Zealot in the film Jesus Christ Superstar. It goes perfectly with the song. Figured out that New Castle Brown is a beer or ale from England. And according to Humble Pie, "it can sure get you down."

You're welcome FHN. I thought I was overdoing it; so I laid off. Joe Cocker, most definitely, fits the category!
