Maybe I'm just a "glass half full" kind of person, so just take this as a vent. This is as good a place as any to
vent my frustrations today.
I'm sick of the constant "living in the last days" bs coming from my witness sister and the few JW connections I still have.
An elder and his wife came by the other day just to invite me to the CO's talk, and I let the UN thing out of the bag to him.
Normally, I just thank them for the invitation, accept the mags, and let them be on their way, but their doomsday attitude just
totally annoyed me this particular day, so I felt "inspired" to divulge the WTS's dirty little secret to them.
I was totally flabbergasted that they had not heard one single thing about the WT connection to the UN~! Not a hint!
They had never even heard of the term NGO! How do these people go through life so blind?!!
There are other negative doomsday attitudes that get to me, too. There are entirely too many "glass half empty" people
out there focusing on and spouting off negativities about (1) our youth; (2) our government; (3) our educational system; (4) our healthcare
industry; (5) the country's morals....etc. etc.
Take any one of the above and you can list just as many things to be optimistic about. I think it's fine to talk about how we can improve
these areas, but the constant ever whining doomsday, woe-is-me, we're-headed-to-hell-in-a-hand-basket attitude is making me sick and tired.
It brings people down and when you lose your optimism, you lose enthusiasm. No wonder so many people are depressed! They are
constantly bombarded by the negative outlooks and doomsday attitudes from religion, news media, and people with political agendas. Good grief!
There....I said it.
