Mike, your comments to the letter from WTS is brilliant!
The response by the Borg is so insidious or deceptive, that upon scrutiny by the JW's branches it appears so "truthful" and an "obvious scheme on the part of all opposers" that this UN-debacle is only a latest ploy by apostates to bring the Society down on its knees.
Your response to the WTS damage-control was right on and exact, showing to us how the Borg manipulates their branches and by extension all its members worldwide.
I wonder, upon reflection how they could justify the Malawi predicament where the brothers could not under any circumstances obtain a "political" card, yet later overstepping all formerly held reasonings that now it is acceptable to falsely obtain documentation in order to make it appear that one had served in the army in Mexico. A complete reversal of opinion indeed!
Just look at this sentence by the WT: ""Still, the Criteria for Association of NGO's - at least in their latest version - contain language that we cannot subscribe to. When we realized this, we immediately withdrew our registration. We are grateful that this matter was brought to our attention"".
This part of their reply is self-evident in that it brings out clearly that the Society was guilty of association in the first place! They admitted that the criteria contained language that they could NOT subscribe to (they minimized the damage by saying "at least in their latest version") as it violated their Christian principles all the way since 1991! True, only the branches alone received this response which then gives them ample opportunity to go over this damage control with a fine-tooth comb, so when it finally filters through to the individual congregations, it will be all the fault of the apostates and opposers of truth in general. Ohhh we feel so sorry for the Society who are constantly being attacked by Satan and his co-horts (pun intended!).
Yes, only an outsider (those not exploited to fall under the guise of mind control) using intellectual fortitude, can readily observe the Society's obvious determination to mobilize all their faithful followers into a one-directional and united frame of mind of firmly believing that they (WT) alone are God's chosen ones. We the "opposers" are always evil and thus always wrong no matter how truthful we are. A brilliant but deceptive way of mind control...
Look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey through the philosophy and empty deception according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary things of the world and not accordingly to Christ! How applicable!!

i liked how you broke down the WTS's letter down point by point. there is really no justification for what they've done (according to their own publications) and they know it. this situation will not go away - we won't let it. nice job.

I have to respond to the letter sent to the branches.
First: The explanation from Mike is right on the money. I am still an active JW who was at Bethel for several yrs. and in good standing with my local congregation. However I have questioned it to my congregation- and they were very surprised. I live in the USA also.

One question, why did they not cc it to the GB? I personally wrote a GB member and sent the letter-still waiting for response. I do not think that ALL members of the GB are informed of what other brothers are doing. I know that for a fact!

The explanation of why they did what they did is weak to an active JW. I am not an apostate and do believe what Jehovah wants us to do. Jehovah has the power to manuever whatever He wants wherever He wants. I believe it was a major mistake for certain "brothers" to do what they did and belong to what they belonged to. Not all the brothers agreed that this should have been done back in 1991. (inside infor) i know for a fact. being friends with brothers who were part of it at that time.

I have to remain anonymous!! this could totally jeopordize my standing in the congregation.

While I believe that this is Jehovah's organization. I am not so stupid to believe that certain "brothers" are VERY corrupt in the thinking they have, not humble and last but not least-not servants of Jehovah but corporate men only!

Actually, I seem to recall that the specifics of what occurred in Mexico were even more obscene.

My recollection is that the "cartilla" was a Card carried by JWs, after being obtained via bribery. It verified that the carrier had completed training as a military reservist, and that the carrier was an active member of the military reserves.

The Malawiian Card said you were a member of a political party, while the Mexican Card said you were a member of the military.

The WTS said that JWs could not obtain the Malawiian Card legally, but that it was perfectly okay to commit a crime in order to obtain the Mexican Card.

That pretty much sums up the moral fortitude of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.

Welcome to the board. You can believe you posted this you can't believe what is going on and how it affects you. Welcome to the truth. A lot of us have been through similar things to you but few of us have been as close to the leadership as you.

This is a mistake and a mistake of huge magnitude. The WTS is still making a big mistake by engaging in lies to cover up the truth. Corrupt men, yes. I wonder if "heads will roll" before the WTS gets to grips with this.

I can understand why you just posted what you did. The frustrations you and I suppose many other, jw's are experiencing need an outlet.

How did you bring up this subject, privately or in a meeting? Was the surprise shock, or just wonder? It would be interesting to hear what some of the comments from other active Jw's were.
