Well, that would give a whole new meaning to the phrase "Awww, damn. The computer crashed."

As long as those crashes cause less than three thousand deaths a year (in the UK) then it's an improvement on the current system that allows any testosterone fuelled lunatic to be in charge of a vehicle.

The difference between wearing a helmet and not is if your funeral is open casket or closed... If you drive like a f#cking fool (like 120 mph) then your going to end up dead helmet or not!

I rarely wear mine. I'm insured and have no desire to live forever!

One of my best friends right now suffers from a stroke caused by hitting his head on a curb while riding his motorcycle. It caused a blood clot in his brain, so for all you joksters out their in JWD land it is a serious issue and has been proven that while riding , wearing your helmet saves more lives than those who don't.

I've got to say something that's always pissed me off. These guys go out and behave like idiots doing the "stunting" and stuff and for some reason when they crash that is proof that motorcycle are dangerous... WTF? If they were doing this stuff in cars would anyone say "well that proves that cars are dangerous!" No they would say that proves that person is a jackass! How about airplanes? Or boats? Nope just motorcycles...

Behave like an IDIOT and your going to get hurt regardless of whether its a motorcycle a car or a frickin yard tractor...

I've got a Vulcan nomad. I don't know how much help I would be but feel free to ask me!

This is how it should work. If your caught doing over 110 mph in ANY vehicle you lose your licence for 5 years no questions asked. If your caught stuntin on a bike or drifting in a car you lose your licence for 8 years. If you don't want to lose your licence you can at your discretion CHOOSE a nice public caning... It's not a forced punishment, you choose lose the licence or lose some skin... I think people would think long and hard before acting like an asshole... at least the SECOND time!

I'll tell you one last thing I would like to see is GPS readers in cop cars that tell what speed OFF DUTY or not on a call officers are driving and automaticly sends them a ticket. NOBODY drives as fast and as dangerous as a pig. They shouldn't be above the laws...

Sure, wear your helmet but remember it may save you.

Several years ago when they were re-configuring the I-35 loop around Kansas City, my (then) fiance and I were on our way home when we noticed a young man lying near one of the pillars, his motorcyle beside him. We found a pay phone, called 911 and went back to the site to try to perform first aid.

When we got back, there was nothing we could do. The motorcyclist's helmet was shattered from where he hit the support pillar. I never knew brains looked like that.

I'm sorry to find out the photo was real and the young man died. When I first saw the photo, making its rounds on the internet, I thought it was staged. Too bad. And the debate about helmets in relation to this photo is moot - his helmet didn't save him. As for the idea that speed kills, I've always thought that accidents kill people, and speed just makes the accident much much nastier.

I noticed there was a person or two that felt there shouldn't be any laws requiring a person to wear a helmet.
In the United States alone brain injuries occur every 15 seconds, personal insurance runs out quickly and those with traumatic brain injuries the costs run into the millions. An expense that's absorbed then by taxpayers.
I have an acquaintance who teaches a class at the University on brain trauma. She said there's always people in the class that take that stance on the government required helmet laws. At least until they spend their time with patients who've had brain trauma and see what happens to them and to their families.

Well mis, I'm a nursing student. I was an EMT and rode rescue as a firefighter and STILL don't think that helmets laws are a good idea.

As to the poor tax payers please one motorcyclist vs the DOZENS of baker acted drug abusers that I see on a weekly basis? Give me a break...
