Tried to add some pictures... can't get it to work...

We have chickens.
But my mom being the imbalanced person that she was, had hundreds of birds in our house and out in an outdoor aviary. I won't even post the list. Every bird from finches to 3 types of parrots. Hundreds. So I love birds. But we had so many that I developed Farmers Lung and can never live in a house with a bird again. So she switched to fish. Geez. We had thousands.
Finally got pictures to work...

I have a Black Headed Caique... hate to sound like a "crazy bird guy", but, being currently trapped in the JW cult, I feel like he is my only real friend. I don't know what I would do if anything happened to him.
Hey DoomVoyager,
I had no idea what a Black Headed Caique looked like, so I googled it. That is a beautiful bird. Have you had him long..? Does he talk.
As you can see above, my pictures above have disappeared.. ugh. I have a terrible time with pics here. May try again.
You don't sound like a "Crazy Bird Guy"...lol. I totally understand how they can and do become our friends and fill a need in our lives. Enjoy...!!!!

trying again...
A man is browsing in a pet shop when he hears, "pssst, hey buddy, come here!" He looks around and sees a large parrot bobbing his head nearby. He walks over to the cage, "did you call me?" The bird says, "yeah, you are the stupidist looking asshole I've ever seen in here!"
The man indignantly turns and walks away but a moment later he hears "psst, hey buddy, sorry about that. Come here" He approaches the parrots cage again, "Yes?" The parrot bobs his head up and down and says "yep, without a doubt, you are the stupidist looking asshole I've ever seen in here". Now the man is angry and he calls the proprietor over and tells him about the rude bird. The owner apologizes and tells the parrot "This is the last straw. If you are rude and nasty with a customer one more time I swear I'm going to put you in the cage with that big tomcat over there!"
The customer, satisfied, goes back to browsing but a few minutes later he hears "psst, hey buddy, come here. Please, I'm sorry" The man is suspicious but curious and walks back up to the parrots cage, "OK, what?" The parrot bobs his head up and down and says "heh heh, you know!"
Rayzorblade, thanks for the call.
I don’t have an imbalance (not that me know of) like yumbby said her mother did. (Here’s hoping she is better)
Me had a large out of doors aviary like yumbby’s mother, plus.
However, could not keep up my pioneer status and keep up the feather friends. So.
Yes, me is sorry me gave up the feathered friends for pioneering the WBTS ways. Those feathered friends were wonderful. They were so peaceful to be around.
But that is history.
But then again, it could have been to my benefit. Looking back, me could have gotten Farmers Lung also. Me has problems with my lungs. (Talkin’ too much about personal matters, sorry)
5go.
What is peaceful about the variety you mention you would like to have. To me, when you come up to them they just act like you are the only person in the world. They just talk to you in such a peaceful manner. Yes you would have to be there to understand what me is talkin’ about. Just makes goose bumps on your back?
Never had a goose.
But had a male turkey (he had a beautiful tail spread) that flogged the hell out of me before me could get away. Till this day me does not know what the hell me did to warrant such treatment.
Thanks

I can relate. I'm not in the cult any more, but I think it seriously damaged the few social skills I used to have. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to my birds. They're the only thing in my life I can still get excited about. I didn't know what a Black Headed Caique was either, so I googled it. Beautiful birds, and from what I read they bond well to humans. I think Caiques are some of the greatest birds out there. I'm sure he makes a great friend. I am not ashamed to admit that my birds control my life. I can't imagine life without them.
