Questioning Russell's background is gossip, so don't do it

  So I attended the Sunday meeting yesterday, and I saw an example of a preemptive strike against those questioning the borg's Russel and Rutherford.

  After about 25 minutes of the talk of blah blah blah (I cannot even recall any details) the speaker concludes by saying (paraphrased):

  "There are those who wonder about the allegations made against Russel and Rutherford. We do not know them, so isn't that gossip? So we shouldn't engage in those thoughts..."

  Total BS! My BS alarm went off big time and I wanted to stand up and say YOU FOOLS!!! I wonder if this was in the outline, or if the speaker added it to the talk...

  What a dumbass. Gossip can only hurt a person's character while they are alive. Slander might fit, but even then, those two died a long time ago. Besides, I wouldn't consider court documents about Rutherfraud's drinking or Russell's improprieties to fit under "gossip."

  And really who cares if they were drunks or flirts? Man I would hate to have to look that closely at people.
