Thirdson...that is exactly what this guy tried to get me to believe.

In reality, what he thought was proof is nonsense. What was found on these and just about any mountaintop is called a Fulgurite. This is the name given to quartz which has been fused by lightning striking the earth. The best known examples take the form of tubes.

If lightning strikes sand, it melts the sand into glass, forming a tube of melted sand outside the lightning channel and vaporizing the sand from inside the tube.

Here is an example of what they look like if they are not broken up:

So much for this proof of a miracle.

I remember it well. In 1994, I was assigned to play a role in that year's DC drama. I was the young lad who was persuaded by this Yahwist massacre story to quit college and get baptized ASAP. I have some pictures of me on stage taken by some of the friends right here on my desk. Maybe some day I will scan them for y'all.

    Hi Jan,
The tale (turned around) doesn't bother real believers at all...nor did it bother Jesus, "Ye shall not put the Lord thy God to the test".
Do you know what bothers agnostics/Atheists?
    1) C. S. Lewis
    2) Pascal
    3) Believers challenging the presupposition that any prophecy or miracle cannot happen, then with that bias in mind, redate Biblical books and events. BTW, have you seen the latest understandings that put ALL of the N.T. as completed before the fall of Jerusalem?

    Have a nice weekend.
