  Some of the PR that the WT did for the UN is still on their official website. For example:

  There needs to be a website listing of all these articles from Awake! over the years to show this was an ongoing relationship between the WT and the UN.

  A look at the Table of Contents of that Nov. 22, 1998 Awake! is interesting! There's the PR for the UN. There's an article about the problems the JWs have in France and the nice outcome in Russia. What to you want to bet this Awake! issue got a special distribution? Nothing wrong with that except the cost of doing PR for the UN.

  I also got a kick out of the "meat in due season being wild beast" line.. LOL

  Like you said, most Witnesses would still remain if they knew the WTS voluntarily agreed to support the charter and ideals of the UN. This, I believe is due to most Witnesses not understanding or really caring to know these days what exactly they believe.

  Unfortunately for the WTS, I think their brightest followers and the ones who have taken the time to understand the significance of these things, will be troubled by it. Like you said, the articles in the magazines that almost seemed to be pro-UN have been disturbing for quite a while.

  Oddly enough, this issue impacts in a different way than the child abuse issue or the blood issue. Non-witnesses will not understand what all the fuss is about, but it is an issue that specifically targets the loyal, faithful Witness.
