Serious and respectful discussions on God and the Bible.
Do you find that certain posters are more apt to get you reading?
But, of course! Mouthy, Minimus, WTWizard, Obves, JCanon, Leolaia, are at the top of my list - no particular order, I may add.
What will actually get you to post vs. just read, regarding a thread?
If it's a post downgrading the Bible or playing into racial stereotypes, I feel compelled to respond.

Personal Testimonies. No arguments with them. If they happened they happened. Such doctrinal things as the Trinity, etc., they have been arguing about for thousands of years and still have not agreed on the nature of God or what happens when we die.

I usually look for the "fun" threads. The ones that make me laugh and bring out the wit in posters.
I hate looking at threads that start out being soooooo long & have scriptures quoted. I loose interest quick...
Then there are post by certain posters that you just know are going to be good!

I like thought provoking posts like Metatron's. Where's he been lately?
I also enjoy present and ex elders comments.
I appreciate reading anything new that's happening in the Org.

Anything with good information. I'm trying to glean knowledge on the Bible and the "organization". I also appreciate the personal stories, which give insight into feelings and emotions of those who've been in and/or are now out. The numbers turn me off- they don't mean anything to me. The fun threads are good, too. I loved the Ya-ya sisterhood, lots of laughs.

I am still working my way through the "best of" sub-forum. I enjoy reading about doctrinal flip-flops, history of the borg, scandals etc. I enjoy reading personal experiences, especially of how others who are still in like me are coping. I like reading rumours of coming changes because it allows me to get my head around it ahead of time and then use the opportunity to subtly make others think.

P.s.
I just wanted to add that I don't particularly enjoy reading posts that are full of hatred and vitriol towards J.W's or references to them being stupid. Being under mind control has no connection with intelligence or lack of it. There are some very intelligent people here, most of whom once were witnesses.

I enjoy posts dealing with "New Light" and the discussions that follow the most.
In posting, I enjoy answering questions about experiences as a Dub. Welcoming new ones, offering support to those having a bad time, some of the fluff threads, & light discussions on scriptures... nothing too deep for me, I had enough of that in the borg.
I enjoy the posters with a sense of humor, and the ones that really have a way with words, such as, but not limited to, Hillary Step.
