I can see that she is really on track with a truth here.
That is that the "end of days" or Armageddon is a figurative story that describes what we go through as individuals when we face our mortality. She captures that idea so well in what her mother experiences. -

Laurie Anderson is a very creative thinker and has been for decades. Her performance art is always impeccably orchestrated as is this particular sequence which I have not seen before.
